I purchased this product as an assistive device for my husband who has had a stroke and only has the use of one hand. However, I have also been using it myself to quickly wash sharp knives that I do not wish to run through the dishwasher. So for our purposes, the answer is, "yes!"

Will this clean stalks of celery?

The bristles are pretty close together so it could be a tight fit for celery. But I could see it working. It’s worth a try.

Do the bristles scratch knives?

I’ve not noticed it scratching any of our silverware.
