This is that rare kind of book that ends up being more than I expected or even hoped for. It is well-written and beautifully illustrated. It's full of interesting lore as well as practical activities for creating magical Ukrainian items. I just ordered Madame Pamita's book on Tarot and I suspect I'll be ordering her book on Animal Familiars before long. As a Ukrainian Witch, I am impressed at her ability to weave so much useful information in a seemingly effortless manner. However, I suspect that much work went into the creation of this book. Well worth the money but, at age 66, I appreciate the reasonable pricing. I am singing praises to others.

This is a great book for exploring Slavic magic and explores the complex character of Baba Yaga using the classic story of Vasylyna, a young girl with a wicked stepmother. Using her courage, and guided by her late mother’s love, she embarks on a life changing journey. I loved the way this book tells a chapter of Vasylyna’s story, then the author explains the wisdom presented by that part of the story, and finally presents some hands-on magic that is based off of the chapter. A beginner will come away with not just a great story but, having shared the journey with Vasylyna, will have garnered wisdom and learned quite a bit of magic and culture along the way.

Very good read, hard to put down. Highly recommend to anyone interested in slavic witchcraft traditions. When I was growing up, kids were threatened with baba yaga that she will come eat them if they don't comply. I always secretly admired her and wanted to meet her. This book is lovely.

I first bought this book on Kindle and I loved it so much I bought the regular copy. I have been buying witchy books since since the 90’s and after a while they all seem redundant. It’s been years since I was excited about a witchcraft book. But this book is different. There are no sections that I skipped over because I’ve read the same stuff a million times before. Nor are there redundant sections of the book. Every chapter, every section teaches something completely new and even if you don’t care about witchcraft, it is written so well I enjoyed it in learning about the fascinating lore of the Ukrainian people. The book is well researched but reads like a beautiful story.

Fully engaged in the history and folklore of Baba who I know from stories from my Russian grandmother! Terrific book that also includes craft ideas and more…you won’t be disappointed!

This book is just what I’ve been looking for, and I didn’t even know it! I love that the author gives information on the Slavic practices through their folklore, and offers a way to incorporate it in modern life. The practices are very grounded, and accessible to anyone. I’m not of Slavic decent and don’t practice Slavic witchcraft, but I still think this book is very inspirational and useful to my practice, as someone who practices folk magic.

I am so thankful for what I have learned from Baba Yaga’s Book of Witchcraft and implore you to check out this treasure trove to relate to the earth, home, and spirit from a Ukrainian - Eastern European perspective. This book is a multifaceted exploration of Ukrainian folk culture and an eye opener for the rich practices you may not even realize are already in your life. This lens can augment the way you relate to most aspects of life, and the afterlife. This is a goldmine for witches (but really anyone) that wants to deepen connection to Eastern European ancestors, their environment, and themselves. So many quirks I practiced as a child, thinking meant nothing, I was reading as traditional practices in the pages of this book. It actually brought me to tears. The dolls I made as a child, my relationship to the water and the forest - This book gave me context to my ancestry. Not only is this book beautiful, the author does a wonderful job sharing the history of Baba Yaga within a easy read. She breaks up the history/story with rituals and practice information. It’s written with easy for the reader to digest the information. If you are like me and enjoy making notes along your way, there is plenty of room to do so within the pages. The book is a good quality book. The images are beautifully created and so much tradition throughout the book. Volevo qualcosa di diverso rispetto ai classici libri di stregoneria basati sulla wicca, e infatti qui ho trovato ciò che cercavo: non sono un'esperta di folklore e usanze descritte nel libro, però ci sono cose che non ho trovato in altri libri di magia e la particolarità è proprio il fatto che questo libro ti racconti una storia per insegnarti varie cose. Anche se non si pratica magia è comunque un arricchimento culturale e lo consiglio anche a chi vuole imparare su questo mondo.
