Well made, beautiful, and versatile
This is not much like any towel I have used before, but that's a good thing! Once you get over how different it is from your expectations, you realize all its advantages. It’s so soft, so lightweight, so versatile. It’s also huge, 39 inches x 73 inches (which is over three feet by over six feet, so quite large). I wrapped it around myself twice and sort of burrowed into it. It’s 100% cotton and handmade in Turkey, and mine was in beautiful summery colors—violet and coral and marigold. My mother has a Turkish towel that is a little thicker than this one, but I like this one. It’s so thin that you can use it like a shawl in a way or a sofa blanket. It really does have that soft, homey feel like clothing. This towel is really well made. You never know for sure what you’re getting when you shop online and often you end up wishing you could see and feel and test out the things you buy. But this is really nice. It’s a good quality fabric, the tassels on the end are really pretty and well-made. You have to get over that it doesn’t feel anything like terry, like the towels you have always used, but it is soft and the fact that it’s thin in preferable in the summer. It’s cooler. It would definitely make a great beach towel to lie out on. It gets even softer the more you wash it, and it is easy to wash. I worry about the tassels unwinding a little, but even if they do, the fabric itself is sturdy and the towel should last a long time.I received this Turkish towel for a discount in exchange for my honest feedback, but my thoughts are my own. Thanks!

Camino Packing
I got this to try out before I go on the Camino....which will now be much later than earlier! First, I love the colors and design. The weight is good and although I'm not used to using something so thin, it works nicely and will be perfect for hiking adventures. It dries my skin well enough and is nice to use as a wrap around or shawl over my head in too much sun.

Beach table cloth.
Nice and big beach towel. It say's the more you wash it the fluffier it will get. But the towel is very thin. It really need to soak up a lot ot water for it work properly. But I'm sure it will do the trick. The colors are beautiful and it does cover a large area.

This towel is pretty great!
I'm really happy I bought this towel. I've wanted a set for a while and figured I'd get one just to see how I like it. I'm a fairly thicc girl, 190 lbs, and this towel not only covers me completely - it can also dry me completely. This is after shrinking it as much as possible in the washer/dryer (has been washed 3 times as of this review). I do sometimes use another towel for my hair, so if you have really long and/or thick hair you may want a dedicated hair towel, but I tend to dye mine bright colors and I don't want to risk any bleeding onto the towel because I love it so much.

Smelled really awful
These towels arrived smelling truly awful. I haven't been able to use them because I've spent weeks trying to fix the stench.Tried many (many) things: washing with regular laundry soap... bagging with crumpled paper grocery bags... hanging in the garage for a couple weeks... hanging outside in subzero wind for a week... None of these reduced the awful odor.I think the things that may have finally actually eliminated the smell were:--soak in laundry soap and borax for 24 hours (starting off as hot as possible)--wash in hot--soak in dilute hypochlorous acid and vinegar for 48 hours (several cups of each, starting hot)--wash in hot--dryAt that point the smell was no longer detectible and it seemed safe to put it in the dryer (Because god forbid it makes the dryer smell awful). So, no review of functionality yet, as I haven't wanted to even touch them. However, the colors are really pretty-- I got the orange stripe and 2 blue stripe ones (both colors stank). The weave is even thinner than I expected, but that can be an advantage in some circumstances. I expect to like them, if the smell does not resurrect itself when they get wet.

Soft right out of the package
I just received my Turkish bath towel. Oh my goodness! It was soft right out of the bag. It does NOT have any smell as mentioned by other reviewers. It’s now in the washer as recommended on the tag. Tag also says to put it in the dryer, but I choose to hang it to dry. This will replace the bulky bath sheet in my swim bag. I’m excited to start using this light weight, compact towel. Before I put it in the washer, I washed my hands and used this towel to dry them. The absordancy was good, I’m now considering replacing all my terry towels with Turkish towels over time.Weight of this towel, for those curious folks: 9.7 ounces, or 274 grams. And yes, I zeroed the scale after placing the bowl on it.

Bar Towel
Meh. I hope this towel does soften up. When I got it, it was scratchy and rough...similar to Korean Italy towels. It also smelled of smoked meat-which wasn't unpleasant, just odd-and the smell washed right out. After washing, it wasnt quite as harsh, but it wrinkled terribly. I will continue to use/wash in hopes that it will soften up. These actually remind me of bar mop towels that are used in restaurants. Thin, absorbant, but mildly sctratchy...
