Like many, I have drooled over the gorgeous Grove Made monitor shelf and accessories with their astronomical price. Thankfully, I've avoided temptation because neither color option (walnut or black) works with my white and carbonized bamboo UpLift desk. I've seen copy cats on Etsy, but again, the prices are still crazy, they at best offer a light oak wood that could work, BUT the legs are black metal or black cork. I was browsing monitor stands/desk shelves on Prime Day when I came across this Aothia Large Dual Monitor Stand. I am so pleased! Since I bothered to actually READ the description, I knew the product consisted of composite hardwood plywood and cork. It is so frustrating when people don't bother to read product details, then leave a poor review for getting exactly what they ordered! While I understand a few people have had issues, the fit and finish of the monitor stand I received was very nice. When installing the cork legs, nothing chipped or shredded, despite the instructions stating a little cork damage is to be expected during the installation process. I was a little nervous when I ordered, because the primary product photo showed the cork legs looking VERY orange. I trusted that the other photos were more accurate, and yes, the legs are just the regular cork color. While the oak is obviously not a perfect match with my carbonized bamboo desk, the oak finish and cork legs both share colors contained in the bamboo, so it coordinates nicely. I truly love the look and feel of the oak grain. While the shelf looks quite sturdy, I'm not actually using this as a monitor stand, since my monitors are on Ergotron LX arms. Instead, I'm using this as a desk shelf to hold my Creative Labs SoundblasterX Katana soundbar, and to mask some of the inevitable cable clutter that comes along with owning a ton of tech. I have no negative comments, only a wish: A 60" monitor stand would cover the entire space under my three monitors. If Aothia comes out with one, I will definitely buy it! It would also look more balanced on larger, 72" wide desks, whether as a monitor stand, or a desk shelf, than this 43" version. I highly recommend!

This large, dual monitor stand by Aothia is a suitable and affordable alternative to Grovemade's large desk shelf. While not perfect, Aothia's stand is functional and stylish, at 1/5 of the price of Grovemade. Below is a detailed review. How accurate is Aothia's product description? The size is in the ballpark but innacurate. The surface of the shelf is actually 42.5 inches wide by 9.25 inches deep. Two 27-inch Dell monitors fit side by side with a few inches of overhang on either end. My monitor's stand base fits with room to spare. I purchased this stand in walnut stain to match my walnut laminate desk by UpLift. The Aothia is lighter and warmer/redder in tone compared to UpLifts's walnut color. The difference is noticeable under good lighting, but not in a way that clashes. The cork has a slightly orange tone, not tan like you'd find in a wine bottle. How is the product packaged? I was disappointed by the packaging. According to the product page, the company claims that each piece is packaged in a protective layer of foam. My box did NOT include any interior protection, neither foam nor even a protective film. The cork legs were packed inside a clear plastic sleeve. I can understand why many reviewers complain of receiving scratched products. Any minor puncture to the shipping box would easily reach the shelf. I was lucky in that my box arrived without damage. Is it easy to assemble? Yes. Just push the legs into the slots on the underside of the shelf. It is a tight squeeze, but the pressure will hold the legs in place. Apply light, even pressure and the legs will slide right in. Don't use strong, abrupt force or you might damage the legs. How is the quality? The product I received is nice quality. The wood surface is smooth, level, and of uniform thickness. There aren't any rough edges or splinters. However, I can understand why some reviewers complain about gaps or holes in the unfinished edges. The plywood material has some gaps that were poorly filled by the manufacturer. I mistakenly slide my fingernail across what I thought was a small piece of styrofoam, only to discover that it was a piece of dry filler than hadn't fully cured. My action loosened it, causing it to flake off and leave the hole exposed. Luckily, this was the only imperfection and I just placed it on the side facing the wall. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality and function of this product considering the affordable price. If I decide that the color is too different from my UpLift walnut desk, it could easily be painted a matte black. As for the risk of damage or imperfections in the wood, I recommend giving this product a chance. Amazon offers free returns/exchanges if you the wood is damaged. I received my product within 72 hours, so the turnaround time for a replacement would be short.

Very sturdy, for reference my desk is 48 inches. The desk riser has created more space, making my desk feel less cluttered. There is no hardware, so it’s extremely easy to put together. Would recommend!

I did not have any damage on my product when I received it. Box had a small dent in it but on the side where there was protection. Inside the box is the shelf, legs in an enclosed bag, instructions, and some foam. First impressions, this is a nice looking desk shelf. The top veneer is wood textured on top and a nice color. The sides are rounded and sanded smooth. Legs are made from cork and thick. They just slide in and are held into place firmly. When on the desk it adds 3.5in of additional space for you to put items. For the price I think it is a really good value. If i had to have a cons to this. I would say I would like more colors or different stains. Second I think the sanding on the sides is smooth but it does cut into the veneer a little as can be seen in the photos.

I saw a similar monitor stand as this one but it was out of my budget. After doing some searching I came across this stand so I decided to purchase it. It’s great quality and sturdy enough to hold 2 monitors. Looks wise it’s beautiful and the build quality is great. I’ve had this stand for almost a year and it still looks like it did when I purchased it.

This thing is great! takes about 2 seconds to put it together. I also really appreciate that I can leave the middle support off to incorporate storage down below (I wouldn't recommend this if you are putting a monitor on top of it), but it makes a great shelf to sit under the monitor!

Outstanding quality for a fraction of the price of Grovemade. I purchased some matte black paint for the cork legs, and the monitor shelf looks outstanding on my desk! Definitely recommend!
