Solved a problem for me
I installed this in a shed that can get above 110 degrees F in the summer. It is used to power Ubiquiti access points, two (2) CCTV cameras, all via PoE, and has a streaming box, power line network adaptor, PC, and TiVo Mini attached as well. Prior to this box I had a Ubiquiti US-8-150W installed in this location which worked fine all winter but started failing on hot summer days.I mounted this box to the inside roof of my shed using some punched flat steel bars to allow ventilation behind it. There’s a lot to like about the Cqenpr; cable management is excellent, it comes with a range of mounting options, and is truly weatherproofed. I would have had no issue with mounting it outside, especially with the cleverly offsetting door closure system. Please note that there is no fan included but there is a spot to mount one. In my application, it was not needed. The best part about this switch is that it just works. On the hottest of days it has not dropped out once, and that’s without a fan. I wish it was managed as it would be nice to be able to reset a camera if needed, but so far it has not been needed. It has solved a problem for me and is highly recommended.

Good switch to use in harsher environments
I have a few POE cameras in my garage location and this switch is a bit more rugged than other switches that I have. I like the enclosed case so that dust is significantly reduced going into the receptacles. The price is a bit high as I can get 8 port switches much lower but without the custom case. Still everything works like a charm - 8 months later and I have no issues at all.

This is a large switch that seems to work well
I am neither technically experienced nor capable of rating the finer technical attributes of this unit, but I was able to connect four security cameras to the switch and to view each of them back at my base NVR. My installation is outdoors, under the eave of my house. This allows me to run only one Ethernet cable to that side of the house and then split off to four cameras. Due to my home's mid-century design with very low and sometimes non-existent attic spaces, I am required to run all cabling from my security system's closet outside and around the exterior of the house to all of my sixteen security cameras. Anything that reduces this exposed mess of cables is a very good thing for me. One negative aspect: the instructions provided by the manufacturer seem to assume that I already knew how to use a PoE switch. I had to just guess where to connect the primary Ethernet cable. Still, the switch allows me to reduce the number of cables running around the house, tucked up under my eaves. I like that, and I recommend this switch for others with my installation problems.

Not great but could be worse.
It's no unifi, but if you're looking for a budget 8 port poe switch that you can install outdoors, you could do worse. I like the versatility with mounting options, it can be pole mounted if needed. The design should keep it protected from rain and snow, but since there are no rubber gaskets and the cable feed is open, moisture will still get inside. Overall it does not feel very sturdy, the device is very light and I feel like I have to be careful when opening the access panel. You can mount a small fan on the inside, but since there's no way to really power a fan the addition of that template just seems confusing. As stated in the product description, this is an unmanaged switch but some of the verbiage can be misleading. It clearly says on the inside "Smart" switch, which could be interpreted that it is manageable. The mention of it being "A.I. powered" is also misleading and just not true. Also, 8 ports of poe is great, but it's really only 7 since you need an uplink. A dedicated uplink port would have made more sense. In summary, yes I would use it but wouldn't be surprised if it has a short lifespan.

Everything needed for installation included.
Comes with everything needed to install. Three different options that I noticed.I wouldn't say this housing is weatherproof but the design of it is definitely weather-resistant. All the electronics/electrical is protected from direct rain/moisture. But the inside is not sealed from the outside. Rather, everything is under "overhangs" so that rain can't get to it (it would have to go up along the inside of the housing). There's a spot for a cooling fan and it's on the bottom. More for circulating air, I suppose. There's also space to add a fiber optics module (not sure if this model can support it as I haven't checked). The hinged door design is nice as it just swings out of the way. One screw keeps it secured but the door also latches up to "lock" so the entire design is nice.My application is indoors for this so I won't be able to report any updates regarding weather resistance. I'll update this review as necessary.

Nonfunctional
I had planned on using this to replace an outdoor PoE switch system I have. This provided no PoE to any devices I connected it to. Nothing lighted up and it did not work.

It's a good outdoor rated switch!
This device is useful while not exactly necessary. What it does well is hold up to weather both indoor and out. Meaning even the attic or basement of a house can be a harsh environment for most standard switches. This is built to handle those extremes. It works like a normal switch would. It requires power and a source to get it's internet connectivity from. From there, it does provide POE (Power over Ethernet) to handle some outdoor cameras but beware the wattage power needed for the devices as well to make sure this size of a unit can handle it. It has a surge protector built in which is nice as well. If your budget allows for a device like this for harsher environments, by all means, this unit worked well enough for my use case to recommend it. Good Luck!
