This is the drone to buy! Customer service is on point!
I am new to flying quadcopters/drones, and this is my first. I have seen Mavics in operation, and this is a drone that may have fewer features but for the price you cannot beat this drone. I received the drone just a few days ago. It is extremely well packaged. It's heavy too, 585g (for reference the Air 2S clocks in at 595). The box is sturdy, inside the box, is an opaque plastic zip bag that holds the really cool hard side carrying case (think old-school lunchbox for size comparison). Open the carry case, and everything is compartmented in foam. The lid has a mesh zip pocket as well. There is a spot for the extra battery, drone, and controller. Now for the operation. Fold out the arms, press the power button, and the drone is ready to go. I turn on the controller, it connects...and nothing. Turns out you absolutely have to use the app on your cell. The controller has a great spot to securely hold your phone. So, I download the app, fire it up, and look at the quick start guide. You have to calibrate the compass, i.e. turn the drone horizontally and vertically, it'll beep after each and you are ready to go. Or so I thought. The quick start guide says press the sticks to the 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock positions to start the motors. I do that...nothing happens. I look at the app and there's a button that looks like a bullseye, I press that and a little window pops up and says slide bar to start motors, and a button that says "take off." I do that...still nothing. I look a little more, and see that "GPS mode" is on and it is getting no GPS signal. There's a button on the remote, to cycle through modes, so I press that to a different mode. Here's the important part so I will type slowly and loudly for the folks in the back UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU ATTEMPT TO TAKE YOUR FIRST FLIGHT INDOORS!!! I took all of the steps I mentioned above with the drone sitting on a table in my office. The motors spun up, and I thought cool it works! I'll just lift it off the table and set it back down...WRONG. I made the mistake of using the "one touch takeoff/landing" button on the remote. Let me tell you that if you press that button this thing will leap in the air like a bullfrog with a cattle prod up his a$$! I hit the button and it hit the ceiling and came crashing to the ground! At this point, I'm thinking to myself, there's a $400 lesson learned. I pick up the drone and sure enough, cracked arm. It's now a $400 paper weight; speaking of paper the motors WILL blow paper everywhere if you have any sitting on your table :) Not one to be so easily defeated, I look on the ol' amazon for a replacement arm, and sure enough they have them, but I can't get one (won't ship to Guam). I decide to take a flyer and email customer service with my dilemma. Sybil from Ruko responded within minutes, asking which arm I needed. I tell her, and she says no problem we will send you one free of charge. I'm thinking great new arm, then I get her next email, sorry we can't send it to Guam. Damn. But she says order one and send us the order number and we will refund the cost to you. Holy cow!! These folks are awesome! I actually had already ordered one to be sent stateside to the fam to put in a care package at a later date. Whether Sybil follows through or not, her responsiveness and willingness to help are a rare quality these days. I decided since it's only a crack let me see what crazy glue will do. I put the glue to the crack, waited about 36 hours and just check the pic and video. The quality is outstanding on the camera. Pictures are crystal clear and detailed. The video is crisp. The camera gimbal works great, and produces outstanding pictures. I did all of this without an SD card. The pics/videos are sent to your phone. You connect your phone via wifi to the drone. I launched the drone OUTSIDE my house, went up about 100 feet, flew around a little bit, and hit the home button. It took about 30 seconds for it to decide what to do, and it went straight over to the takeoff point, re-oriented to face the original direction, and slowly descended back to the ground. There is no obstacle avoidance feature like more expensive drones, but I'm not sure that would've helped me on my maiden flight :) Overall, if you are looking for a good introduction to drones without breaking the bank BUY THIS DRONE! This is not a toy. It's also not a $1000 Mavic. What it is, is an outstanding reasonably priced drone with tons of features. Buy it you won't be sorry. (I actually bought a second one in case the crazy glue didn't work).

Excellent WELL made drone with many features
I have been extremely impressed with this drone on numerous occasions especially at this price point. I am new to flying "real" drones after only fooling around with more toy like drones in the past so I thought there would be a big learning curve, but this drone has impressed since I've opened it. The drone gets you started in Beginner mode where you can learn some of the features while limiting how far and high your drone can fly to protect both yourself and your investment in the drone. This is nice feature right out of the fox and every novice drone operator should take full advantage of. I flew mine in this mode for the first 5-6 flights just to be sure I knew what was going on as this drone is not a toy and is capable of much more. Once comfortable with the flight controls, I finally set her free and how fun it has been. This drone is easy to control with lots of feature such as "follow me and point of interest video". The 4k video and pictures are evident with every snap and video taken, the images are crystal clear, and we got some excellent video and images while vacationing in Bermuda. The return home button is fantastic and has always brought my drone home safely, just be sure to set your return heights in the settings to coincide with the surrounding areas (i.e. if there are trees or poles in your flight path be sure to set the return home height above the height of those obstacles). The wind resistance feature is also amazing as in light winds its barely noticeable and even in heavier winds you can see and hear the drone battling the wind effectively. So many other features I'm still playing around with months later and learning. Since I'm a novice flyer this drone has had some bumps and bruises but nothing out of ordinary, mostly related toa rough landing while trying to control the drone in heavy winds near the oceanfront but its taken everything. I would highly recommend this drone both for beginners and more experienced, it has all the features to enable a rookie operator to learn and enough features to be a go to drone for a more seasoned operator who may not want to fly a more expensive unit in certain areas. And 1 finally thing I wanted to mention. The customer service of this company is nothing short of amazing. From the time the drone ships they follow up with you to make sure everything is going ok sending emails every so often to see how things are going, and to see if any questions you may have. The customer service team has always answered emails promptly and always to my satisfaction which is something that a lot of company's these days lack for these reasons alone this drone is worth the investment. I had a small warranty issue that was resolved quickly and efficiently and to my complete satisfaction and would like to Recognize the customer service representative Cherry specifically. She has been a godsend and am so happy with her customer service I feel like you she needed to be acknowledged in this review specifically. Thank you, Cherry, for your outstanding customer service and attention to detail. Buy this drone, you will not be disappointed.

distance is a farce
*edit* the company ended up sending me a working unit and it fixed all the issues I was having. I’ll stand behind them. Drone flies about a mile or so out now without issues and the camera is working just fine. Well worth the money if you aren’t looking to spend 1200+ dollars. This drone is pretty nice and heavy duty.. although you can't fly it without an FFA flight plan by federal law due to its weight. The camera is fairly decent but the gimble is questionable at best. The camera shake on this unit is quit terrible when moving even with taking great care to make sure the unit stays in perfect new condition. Its battery life is to be expected in all modes which is around 15-21 minutes and if its windy I would cut that down to about 10 minutes. It's range claim is greatly incorrect whether or not in an open area or the woods. I get about 1000 feet and it starts clipping then cuts out and returns to "home" which is questionable at best considering if you are in a wooded area it will crash into everything if you do not assist it manually. the drone has some pretty great potential in close range with no wind but still shakes on the camera making video footage sub par and sometimes unusable. I really do enjoy this unit but I can't really use this for anything but a kids toy because I am afraid it will end up in a tree or body of water. I would say if you area looking for a cool loud and fast toy this is for you but if you are in the market for a 4k drone for work I would look somewhere else. So figuring out the software is pretty easy but calibrating the drone every single time and figuring out the sequence to do so is just not that easy. It took some real trial and error to get this thing to fly and I am quite savvy. I would not let a young child try and take this thing outside and figure it out. definitely requires adult supervision. overall, a pretty nice unit but I think the shaking gimble failure and lack of real range makes this simply a toy for enthusiasts that just wanna make noise and record basic things for fun.

Tale of Two Drones....Great Customer Service
I bought this drone as my first ever. I was amazed how stable and easy it was to fly and the camera quality was better than I expected as was the battery life. As my confidence grew I flew higher, further away, and faster. Eventually, I got cocky and started flying within the trees on the property as a sort of obstacle course. It was awesome. Faster and faster in smaller spaces until unfortunately, I flew it into a large oak and after bouncing around in the branches a bit, it fell about 15 feet to the driveway. I thought it would be destroyed, but surprisingly, the only real damage aside from some scars in the plastic body was a broken front landing gear and the camera cover fell off. I easily replaced the landing gear with an available replacement and glued the cover back on. Fired it back up and it was flying as well as before the crash. Unfortunately, I was a bit sloppy with the glue and cleaning of the cover so video quality was a bit cloudy when facing the sun. I wanted to get good quality video so I bought this same drone again. The experience with the second drone has been completely different. It will often lose connection with the controller and is not stable at all. Once, I had it hovering about 10 feet off the ground about 10 feet away from me and it went into a swirl on its own growing in diameter and changing elevation until it almost hit my vehicle. I couldn't control it and quickly hit the emergency land mode. It has had a mind of its own on several flights and I now have no confidence in it. I'll just fly the original and put up with the lower quality video, which was my fault. 5 stars for first drone, but cant get past 1 star for the second. Update: Ruko proactively reached out to resolve issue with second drone. They even offered relief on the first drone, which I declined as the crash was completely on me and of no fault of Ruko. I'll give them another shot and try an upgraded model because they obviously stand behind their products.

Fantastic drone
It is my second drone, I had to find one to be in compliance with new faa remote id. I got it diring Amazon prime day. I chose this drone because of good reviews and YouTube reviews, and lot careful researching. Ruko drone was easy to set up, I have to use cable to plug into iPhone instead of Wi-Fi, following instructions on screen in app. I tested the flight yesterday and it was successful without any issues. I had to bypass first screen when it think can’t connect via Wi-Fi since it is connected through cable to controller. It’s updated and New controller. I tried to scan qr code to get remote id so I can register my new drone, I wasn’t able to. I contacted ruko support and they were able to provide me remote id after I provided them order number after they learned that I couldn’t get it to work with QR code. So I was able to registered it with remote id. Customer support time around is about a day but fast response and helpful. Only cons are when we have iPhone that is pro max, my iPhone is 13 pro max, the otterbox case won’t let me put it on controller. I was able to put iPhone on it, it barely fits, but able to use it. So I have to remove iPhone case when I use it. I notified Ruko about this so they can sort it out with these bigger devices size that is wider than controller can hold. Hopefully they can fix this issue by improving it or add adapter for it. Support staff stated that they will pass my feedback to designer team. I highly recommend this drone. It has great camera footage, features offered by drone, two batteries, controller built in battery can be charged(my last drone was deerc d15, uses regular battery in controller), it comes with case. It’s affordable (when it’s on sale and Coupon) and alternative choice when someone can’t afford dji ones. Time will tell about remote id module thing, beside it, it is approved and compliant on FAA.

Amazing drone for a great price with plenty of features and beginner friendly
This is my first ever drone that I bought 2 years ago and it has worked fantastically. I mainly bought it to take pictures of jobsites or check on roofs whenever there are hard to reach areas, it is very beginner friendly. Batteries a good amount of time but it also varies depending on the wind or how fast you control it. It's extremely steady and precise and takes amazing pictures with lots of features that some name brands dont have for this price point. If you are looking for a great drone for a great price then this is the one for you!!!!

Simply Great Drone with Outstanding Customer Support
I have tried several "entry-level" drones from Amazon, and I must say this one exceeds all of my expectations. I have been using this drone for a few weeks now and the range is amazing! The F11GIM2 responds quickly to remote inputs and the video quality is amazing. I could not get this drone to work with my phone, however, after contacting Customer Support, I was sent a new data cable and all is well. The support received from Ruko Customer Support was above any other seller on Amazon that I have dealt with. The weight is perfect, it is very simple to use, the features are excellent and picture and video quality are amazing. If you are a beginner thinking of getting a great drone, this is the one!!

App and support problems
I couldn't use the drone because the android Ruko Drone app requires Google Play Services which is not included on my LineageOS phone. The app opens and then just crashes with no message after a few seconds after tapping the "Controls" button. The parts of the app that do work have a few glaring typos and misspellings. The app isn't technically required to fly the drone however the compass needs calibrating every time you use the drone and that can only be done with the app. The box was supposed to include the (3) RC cables for the connection between the remote and the phone but those were missing as well as the screws for the spare propellers. I contacted Ruko support. They respond within hours but aren't very helpful. They want a video screen capture of the App's behavior which I can record but its too large to email and they have no way to receive the file on their support website. Their support system is just an email inbox and they don't seem to have an actual login for customers, a ticketing system to assign case numbers or any of the standard processes you would expect. I was asked to upload the video to YouTube instead. Obviously I can't upload to YouTube without Google Play Services. There is I suppose other options but, call me crazy, I shouldn't have to do Ruko Support's job for them. They're a company that sells flying video cameras and yet they have no way to receive these video files from customers. It's important to note that any video sharing website is going to compress the original file so that sort of interferes with support. Not even an FTP site was available so support stopped there and no further effort was made to look into the problem I was having. Their support didn't ask for debug files, firmware versions, logs or anything. It was very low effort from them. I also asked about the missing cables and I was told maybe I'll get them but never heard back and never received them. A friend was kind enough to install the app for me and the drone worked well enough on their phone. That's how I took the picture. I noticed the drone stopped responding after getting about 100 meters away. It wouldn't go any further. This is probably because the RC cable was missing I'm guessing. Overall the image from the camera was very stable and indeed the drone was stable in strong wind as advertised. Its just the software and support that make this not a good choice. I did manage to get the app open long enough on the Controls screen to tap the radar icon in the lower lefthand corner of the screen. That returned an error message overlayed in that corner that said "Ruko Drone app requires Google Play Services which is not supported by your device." That's how I was able to get confirmation that it was indeed a lack of Google Play Services and not some other problem. I would've hoped that maybe Ruko Support could have told me that but it seems like they really didn't know, didn't have the motivation to find out and or didn't have anyone to ask. So if it works, it works but if you have a problem, you'll just have to return it.

Fantastic Drone
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Ruko F11GIM2 drone, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in many ways. This beginner drone offers a fantastic flying experience, with powerful capabilities that make it suitable for both novice and experienced users. One of the standout features of the F11GIM2 is its ease of use. The instruction manual and accompanying video guides made it incredibly simple to get started, even for someone like me who had minimal prior experience with drones. The intuitive controls allowed me to quickly take off, maneuver, and land the drone with confidence. In terms of performance, the F11GIM2 impressed me with its stability and flight capabilities. Despite some minor drift, which is common among many drones, I found the overall flying experience to be smooth and enjoyable. The 2-axis gimbal and electronic stabilization system contributed to the exceptional stability of the camera, allowing me to capture stunning aerial footage. Speaking of the camera, the F11GIM2's 4K gimbal camera is truly impressive. The image quality is excellent, and the 3-axis gimbal with image stabilization ensures that the footage remains steady and visually appealing. Whether capturing breathtaking landscapes or dynamic action shots, the F11GIM2 excelled in delivering high-quality visuals. What sets the F11GIM2 apart from other drones in its class is its affordability. Considering its array of features and capabilities, the price point of this drone is very attractive. It offers great value for money, making it an excellent choice for those who want to explore aerial photography and videography without breaking the bank. In conclusion, my experience with the Ruko F11GIM2 drone has been fantastic. It is user-friendly, offers impressive performance, and provides excellent value for its price. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced drone enthusiast, I highly recommend considering the F11GIM2 for your aerial adventures.

pros/cons
**edited review 08-22-24** Pros: Out of the box a nice decent case. Drone itself is very sturdy. Camera is HD, very clear. Easy to pilot Instructions are easy to understand Battery last a long time extra props and screws Cons: Controls are laggy First flight it crashed due to one motor stuck Some of the screws mounting the propellers are missing, they were not tight. 10% of the time the camera gyroscope will get stuck and will not tilt up or down. Opinion: It’s a great start for beginners but still in the price range that I don’t want to crash and break or can’t retrieve. range is decent but with all the interferences (trees), distance may be limited to probably 500-600 meters. 60 meters above ground will give you a better range. overall, I am happy with this purchase despite the major problem I encountered. stuck motor, stuck gyroscope and lagged control transmission even at 1 meter distance. edit: one of the landing caps came off mid flight, light and board is now exposed. Waiting for response from ruko customer service. **09-14-24** customer service was excellent they are quick on response and updates. i am impressed for that i wish every customer service is like them. I also noticed that the lag has decreased and the response from the controller to the drone is faster. Must be the update. thank you very much

Ruko is a solid company and their customer service is second to none. The drone is also outstanding.
The New F11,wow,what a nice drone.I live on an island and i like the fact it has a good size as we get more wind here and thats a big plus if you like not loosing your drone in high winds. The build quality of the drone is also in par with Djis drones.everything it nice and tight and all very well put together. Its 4k cameras images are nice and sharp with great colour and a very smooth footage, could even use it professionally in my opinion.Flying the drone, its very responsive to stick input and is like flying a little Cadillac,i like it very much.Greatest thing of all about the F11 is that you are getting a drone of very good quality full of features and performance at a livable price, you wont get soaked with a 1400 dollar price tag like with some other drones, this one kicks butt at just over half the price. If you are looking for a drone for fun and recreation that can do it all,i recomend an F11 by Ruko.

Great Drone and amazing support
This was our first drone we've ever purchased for my husband. It takes amazing videos and pictures. He is still in the learning phase and we had a mishap. We reached out to customer care by email and they responded to us immediately. After they did their investigation they decided to send us a replacement drone only which I was just hoping to buy a new camera to put on the Drone. I cannot thank you enough for the kindness you've shown me in getting our issue resolved with regarding the Drone. More than just resolved. I would highly recommend you purchasing this drone as for not the great customer support I don't think we would have been able to get this resolved more than we ever thought. Thank you again customer support for all you do and do not change the great job you already do!!!
