Great at lowering a 2004 WR450F
I installed this lowering link on my 2004 Yamaha WR 450F after having the bike for 14 years. I am 5' 10" with a 32" inseam and weigh about 175 lbs. I have always had to throw a leg over the bike and then climb on. My bike has a street kit so I can ride it on the road to the trail head or use it on my 9 mile commute to work. I have always only been able to touch the ground with my toes. When I have been caught in technical terrian offroad I have either fallen over or really stretched to dab a toe to stay up right. My son who is about 5' 8" with a 30" inseam was wanting to buy a 450cc motorcycle and was looking at lowering links. He got me interested in trying the lowering link. I decided to buy this lowering link and we would try it out on my bike. The install went really easy. We adjusted the sag on the bike and raised the front forks as described by Yamalink and in forums. I have been very impressed with the bike's handling and how easy it is for me to get on the bike now. I can touch the ground on the road and also on technical areas offroad. The first time I took the bike out after installing the link I was on a rock hill climbing up. A rock throw me off balance and I was able to bad a foot and stay upright and continue on. At the top I was astonished for with stock suspension I would not have been able to foot bad and keep myself upright. I do need to install the heavy rated spring for the Yamaha 450F which will be my next purchase once I can find a source that actually has one in stock and not for a super high price. The rear wheel will bottom now by touching the under side of the rear finder on whoops and jumps during the dessert riding in which I am standing. A new rear spring and possibly extending the bottom out bumper on the shock should stop the rear wheel from touching the fender. I would recommend this to a rider who wants to have a great bike with a lower seat and is willing to give a little on suspension travel. The produect does what Yamalink says it does and is nicely machined. Great job. Thank you for the product.

Easy to install, better design than OEM
Im 5' 7 with short legs and I Installed this on my WR426F and now I can put touch the ground on both side of the bike stably or put one foot flat with the other on the peg. Another 1/4 - 1/2 inch would be perfect. I still haven't adjusted the suspension or the forks so I think after that, itll be great!

My feet are flat on the ground when I come to a stop
Didn't think a 1 1/2 inch lowering would make such a difference. I feel so much more safer when riding.

Good product for the vertically challenged
The Yamalink does what it says. I got tired of not being able to put both feet flat on the ground on my 2004 Yamaha WR450. Sometimes you need to dab a foot on the ground. I'm 6 feet tall but let's face it these dirt bikes have a tall seat height. After hearing from some sources that a lowering link will screw up the bike's geometry and handling I listened to the positive reports and installed the Yamalink, which is a precision made item. The install was fairly easy(check YouTube if you need help) and I did not even need to change the sag setting. I adjusted the rear shock damping and rebound screws and slid the front forks up 5mm in the clamps as recommended. Haven't noticed any change in handling. You can always go back to the original set up and sell the Yamalink on E-Bay if you hate it. Visually the bike doesn't look lower, and the good part is unlike shaving down the seat, the distance between the footpegs and top of the seat is unchanged. I'm not looking to get 10 feet of air and bottoming out the shock travel so I am pleased with the Yamalink.
