Brings uniformity to macarons
My husband made some macarons. They were his first ever batch. For half the macarons, he piped the shapes onto this silicon mat. For the rest, he piped freehand.The ones piped onto the mat were all identical, uniform, and rather professional. The ones piped freehand were best described as "rustic".Both were tasty - they're macarons, after all - but the professional and uniform ones were much more pleasing.Cleaning the silicon is easy, but some of the mixture can cake into the crevices of the circles. Nothing that can't be shifted with a little guile, mind.This product is definitely recommended. My husband wants another mat, so he can avoid the rustic look in future.

Decent silicone mat
This is a thin, but durable silicone baking mat. I thought it looked a bit small at first, but it does have 30 spaces to pipe on to. These mats are so much easier to store than the metal ones, and are a great guide for piping even size macarons. Very happy
