Great plastic welder... just give it time to cool off in between jobs.
Great plastic welder! I have a butane torch version for small jobs but needed a plug-in version for a project for my wife's garden. This product heats up quickly and by using one of the three included tips, I was able to weld HDPE plastic easily. The light at the end of the welder tells you that it's still working and when it no longer lights up, the welder needs to cool down. The job we needed done required three buckets to be cut and plastic netting to be welded so it did stop working after about 30 minutes. Contrary to what others were saying about this product, I just let it cool down for an hour and continued working and was able to complete the job.Give it time to cool off and you will find this plastic welder works really well!! Highly recommend this product.

It really works
Works great. I used the plastic welder to fix several cracks in a large plastic hay feeder. Put the metal clip into the gun, pull the trigger and wait a few seconds for it to glow red hot then melt it into the plastic. Then use one of the smoothing tips to flatten the seam. Easy peasy. When moving the feeder one of repaired cracks was heavily stressed but the little metal clips held it together. Why didn’t I know about this tool years ago? Simple, easy, quick, effective and cheap.

Works Great! Only way to weld plastic!
I used this to mend a piece of broken plastic on my John Deere dump cart. I had already tried to JB welding it, but that failed instantly. Plastic is very hard, if not impossible to glue or epoxy. I ended up welding over 30 of these staples to join the broken off section to the main body. I then cut off the exposed staples with wire cutters, but it was difficult to get them flush and it left a bunch of sharp pointy hand stickers. I decided to grind them flat with an angle grinder and that worked really good since I really wasn't too concerned about the finished look, just function. To make it even stronger, I went back over the crack on both sides lightly with a propane torch to melt the plastic into the crack a bit. Turned out really well and greatly exceeded my expectations. It's not pretty, but it's solid. This is the only good way to weld plastic together in my opinion. I have since started going around and fixing every crack in anything plastic I have.

Great main tool, annoying choices around accessories
The tool itself is solid, especially for the price. It heats up the staples almost instantly, so you can make quick work of any project. However, the included clippers are one step above garbage. The cutters are beveled, so it's impossible to get anything close to a flush cut, so you wind up with these deadly sharp little points sticking up. I wound up hammering them down to reduce the chance of someone getting badly cut when working around the garbage bin top. It was pointless for the vendor to include them. I will likely toss them in the garbage after I buy a pair of good flush cuts. Additionally, I really don't like the fact that the staples now come in thin plastic bags that will not last.

Says what it does and does what it says.
Easy and logical to use, and it worked. I was able to repair an old plastic laundry basket that was about forty years old. My wife had a sentimental attachment to it, so was very happy to have it useful again.
