I have a graphics card with a DVI port ready to switch to a monitor with a display port, can it be displayed?

I use these cables as DVI from monitor, to DisplayPort to video card. I don't see why they won't work in reverse order. The signal is digital from end-to-end, and that's what matters.

The monitor I connected it to is saying 'not supported'. Can you please let me know which 24" monitors are compatible with this cable?

Some cables will stop working after a few months. Will this happen?

One of the ones I ordered stopped working after a week, I replaced it with another brand, the other is still working after 5 months.

Can these cables work with a lap top macbook pro and does it need to go into another adapter? i think the slots are smaller and won't fit.

If your MAC BOOK has a thunderbolt 2 interface, you need a Mini dp male to DP female converter to work with it. If your MACBOOK has a thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) interface, you need a USB-C to DP female Converter, because it is a DP to DVI cable! Thanks!
