Based on pictures, I thought I would be able to unscrew the bottoms of these, slip them over the bars of my bike carrier to replace the frustratingly worn out that I currently use, and tighten them back up. Unfortunately, the screw only loosens the hole, and does not open it completely. I can't slip these on to the existing rack bar so they're useless to me.
