The product information says that this stool is 7in tall, but two people say they have measured and it's 5in tall. Which is correct?

The stool is 5 inches tall and very cheap. I would not let any kid over 40 lbs stand on it.

What is the weight limit of this item?

Good to use in the shower for shaving?

I've never used it for that purpose but I suppose if you were looking for something to step up on to keep your knee bent and keep your balance, it may work. I just went in my bathroom and sorta tested it out just position-wise. The stool is about 7 inches tall so it gives an ok amount of height to stabilize your leg. My feet are US size 8.5 and my foot overhangs quite a bit and is kind of uncomfortable if I put my foot flat on it. I suppose rotating the stool would take care of that though. Depending on the shape and size of your shower, it may not sit flat if positioned width-wise anyway. It does seem to in mine since my tub is squared off, but if it's a more rounded tub it may not. Of course if it's a walk-in shower stall it should work any direction. The stool does have some grip on the bottom but I'd be super careful since it doesn't go the whole way around the bottom... It seems like it has some slipping potential.
