While traveling for the holidays and staying with my partner's family, the bonded wire on the back of my top two front teeth (aka my permanent retainer) snapped in half! I tried to ignore it while I was engaging in all the fun and food that comes wtih the holidays...but it was tearing up my mouth and I found it was hard to sleep since I couldn't position my tongue in a way where it wasn't being poked and irritated constantly. At first, I was just going to order a plastic (silicon?) mouthguard since those are the most common and I didn't know an option like this product existed. However, I heard that those can actually affect your bite overtime and move your teeth if molded incorrectly. Moreover, I wanted something less bulky that could withstand the metal poking into it that would be comfortable to sleep with. I was skeptical, but ended up impressed with this product. The instructions and materials for molding were super simple and it actually creates a snug fit around your teeth. I eventually ended up getting an invisalign retainer, and I wouldn't say its fitted quite to that extent--but it is just as slim and non-bulky. I was able to order it super fast and receive it super fast, the mouthguard that saved christmas! haha.

I both grind and clench during my sleep when I'm really stressed out. Previously I had been using The Doctor's Advanced Comfort Night Guard, but did not use it regularly because it was not comfortable at all. Like most other night guards on the market, it is very large. Like, I could not even close my lips around the guard, and I have fairly large mouth. And, while the Doctor's does mold to your teeth, it does not cling to them. So even on the nights when I would try to use it, after fighting to fall asleep it would eventually fall out during my sleep as I tossed and turned, and I'd wake up and have to hunt it down in my bed sheets. Just a terrible experience. I started looking at getting a professional guard from an online distributor when I stumbled upon the Lunaguard. I was skeptical but thought heck, I'll give it a try. It's more than twice the price of the Doctor's but well worth it. It is so thin and feels very similar to my retainer that I used back in high school. Like others said, it did take some experimenting and a few tries to get the fit right, but it wasn't too difficult. And it is so comfortable! I fell asleep right away on the first night of using it and when I woke up I thought it had fallen out - nope, still snugly in place, it was just so comfortable that I didn't notice it at first in my half-asleep state. My teeth feel so much better already after one night's use, not being abused by grinding. I wish I had found this product years ago. I highly recommend to anyone who is an active grinder but can't afford a professional guard. This thing is amazing!

My husband has been using this mouthguard since February, it is currently October!! He’s gotten 8 solid months of use, and he is one to chew through every guard he has previously tried. He grinds his teeth to the point of chipping and moderate TMJ, and this guard has brought him so much relief. The feeling was a little weird to get used to at first, but now he feels naked without it. It was pretty simple to mold, size was good, and it stayed in place well. Note that it is hard plastic, not rubber. The little holes help it not get stuck and make it less gross too. Only complaint is that it did discolor pretty quickly and by the time he threw it away (last week) it was straight up yellow. That being said he hasn’t slept as well since throwing it away, so we will definitely be ordering another! It’s a bit more expensive than other guards but it has not compared to any others he has tried. Well worth it!
