Does it actually blow air?

No air at all it blows beads within the machine.

It very lightly blows air. There are little foam balls in the nozzle that Move around and it makes noise, so the kids think that it does more than it actually does. We have gone through two. My son loved it, but unfortunately the black tube breaks really easily. Invest in some black tape for when it does.
