Alchemi Labs River Hat, Khaki

I bought this for my wife. She loves it. Wore it all day today in the sun and was much cooler that usual in this nice Houston summer weather.It is a bit snug on a 7 3/8 or 7 1/2 size head, which seems to be its maximum size. This is unfortunate for me, because I am 7 1/2 plus I like to wear a Mission cooling towel as a sweat band. The combination is too much, but it would be ideal for the high direct sun and 100% humidity we have here. (The Mission cooling towel is put on dry, not wet as they recommend. It holds a magnificently large amount of sweat and prevents it from falling into my eyes. Much more of the sweat is able to be evaporated due to the improved surface area.)The brilliance of this hat design is that it really reflects the sun and it promotes air movement while it actually stays on your head.Wish they made a slightly bigger hat.

the hat is light, cool on your head....a friend of mine really likes it for fishing .....the only bad thing is one size fits all, only if you have a pin head...I tried it on and it fit just tight and no air space

I like this hat but it is a bit large for my head - it is also a little heavier than I thought it would be. I feel the quality out weighs these two things as I do like the overall feel of the hat!

This was originally a good looking hat that seemed to offer a lot of sun protection due to the silver-color of the reflective material. But, over time, it has mostly turned black (see photo) which absorbs rather than reflects sun's rays, meaning it absorbs heat. I've tried washing it but that does not restore the silver color. I got one good year use from this, then it degraded quickly.

I got this for sun protection and to stay cool while looking cool. Sadly the brim has mind of its own and curls down around your head looking goofy. The hat may reflect the sun but it doesn’t breath as well with vents only on the sides because the top sits directly your head it ends up trapping heat and being quite hot. I tried dunking it in water for additional cooling but the effects don’t last as the material won’t absorb much if any. The one size fits all may be this hats biggest problem and the best indicator of a low quality hat.
