Incredible Detail that Sparks the Imagination
This collection of adventure boards is stunning; the level of detail in an open-world concept immediately captivates you and draws you into a world of your own fantasy. Regardless of your experience with tabletop roleplaying games, you will be entranced by the scenery and ready to begin an adventure of your choosing. This set is not limited to one sort of game and serves as a great imaginative play board for any age.Three of the four double sided pieces connect with one another with alike scenery, leaving the last one blank and ready for your own dry-erase creativity. Each board measures approximately 26" x 26", allowing for a large space to be explored and changed as your imagination (or roleplaying game) sees fit. The opposite side of the three printed sides can be joined as the scenery can change from outdoors to indoor location(s).This scenery board set is incredible and not limited to a tabletop roleplaying game. It can be an introduction for any age or a contribution to an already established collection. There are suggestions included with this set on all of the printed locations and items that may be found but these are merely guides as each location is not limited by a set of rules. This set is well worth the cost, it is a quality collection that I would recommend.

Great for a new table to have
Shockingly heavy, very sturdy and they look great. The image is clear without any pixilation, and the surface wipes up perfectly. I love how varied the images are, they really encompass 99% of what new player campaigns revolve around. These are going to get a lot of use for many years to come.

No "Adventure" included, but a very inspirational for dungeon masters!
I'll get this out of the way. The title uses the word Adventure but there is no adventure in this set. There is no scenario for players to encounter during game sessions. What you do get are numerous well made boards with mounted illustrations. These can serve as inspiration for a writing dm or as pre printed encounter locations that only require miniatures and players to bring to life. What is here is top notch and some of the best encounter boards i have seen and I've been playing table top role playing games for forty years. As long as you don't expect a scenario, these are great aids.

Big, beautiful, and awkward to use
I have a lot of dry erase maps for Dungeons & Dragons, and have tried all the formats. They all face the same challenges: 1) they don't represent a broad enough map that can be used in most situations, and 2) they're too large and/or clumsy to bring anywhere. This set gets it mostly right.First, the size: These maps are chessboard-sized, which they're not easily portable at 13 inches square. With all of the maps together the box is heavy (nearly nine pounds!), so you may want to just pick out one or two maps to take with you if you're traveling. They're fold-out gameboards, and cover six different locales: village, tavern, river, clearing, castle, and chamber. There's one additional set of maps that are parchment- and white-colored.Of the useful maps, the tavern and clearing maps best represent situations characters are most likely to find themselves in. The village and river are a little less common but still valuable. The castle and chamber are very specific and will likely find limited use.I'm torn about the blank board. On the one hand, I appreciate have the ability to write on a blank board. On the other, I don't think we needed TWO blank boards in this set. Parchment and white are not that different, and using an entire side for what is fundamentally a blank page seems like a missed opportunity. Are these fundamentally better alternatives than rolled-up maps or big-book maps? Not necessarily, although the art is cleaner and setup is faster since you just unfold the map you need. Also props to the designers, who were thoughtful enough to add a manual that explains what each map is and how to use it.The whole set is big, beautiful, and of limited usefulness depending on your campaign. Great for DMs who host from home, but for those on the go, rolled-up maps may be a better alternative.
