The ultrix 600 is a fun plane to learn to fly. After flying the Umx ultrix I wanted to try the bigger and faster ultrix 600. Sure glad I did! There is a light kit available that adds another dimension of fun, flying at night! I have purchased 2 of these, one for a backup because I want to always have one ready to fly. Highly suggest to a beginner or experienced rc pilot.

I seldom will write a review so soon after receiving an item, but this one needs one asap. I've flown numerous packs, have an NX8 and imported the template for this from the Spektrum website - verified switches, control surfaces, screws, cg and good to go.In SAFE mode - it will fly at about any speed and just cruises, I flew 15 minutes on a 3S-850 80C pack and it was at 11.5v and there was plenty of juice. On punchouts it would drop to upper 10's - plenty of battery to go... AS3X mode has two settings - mid rates and high rates, mid rates are for flying at speed and smooth - the high rates will chuck it around. Put it in AS3X - take it up, and give it full throttle and full rudder to one side. The differential thrust will cause a pizza box spin that is ridiculous - recovery is a blast, let the plane fall and last minute, hit safe mode and it will recover in about any attitude.The plane is very durable - made from EPP foam and will take a beating, don't be afraid of a nose in - I did and just broke a prop. The E-Flite props aren't always easy to come by - order extras and as an alternative, get some FPV props. I am running Gemfan Windancer 3028-3 blades. The stock blades are 94mm (these are 77mm) and the stock blades have a pitch of 48mm ~ 1.9" and the Gemfan are 53.34. Essentially about a CM shorter, slightly higher pitch and very similar flight characteristics on the OEM motor.Trying HQ Prop T3.5 x 2.2 Polycarbonate 2-Blade Propeller next. That one is 88.9mm in length and pitch of 55.88. That one has a slightly smaller diameter, still 2 blades but more pitch. Those are my 3 props of choice today - the FPV props are quite durable and I figured by going to a 3 blade with a smaller dia - win/win today.

First off. This is a decent plane. It flies great. However, Horizon Clown Town Hobby is cutting corners. The esc/receiver boards are garbage. They ship $80 replacements in paper envelopes and they arrive broken. The props on this plane break when Horizon Clown Town farts. I mean super brittle. The plane is worth $75 in my opinion. But Horizon Clown Town Rug Rats cut me off.I can’t recommend anything made by Horizon Hobby. They are losing customers. Read the forums.The Horizon Hobby dumpy people I dealt w need to do a look in the mirror. All the management personal should be forced to drive vehicles they use to and from work made by their own crappy company. Then they will learn. Until then, HH deserves 2 thumbs down and the pieces of crap people I dealt w need 2 middle fingers up pointing at them. BS.

I really like the looks the workmanship is great it flies very well the brushless motors are a great improvement l also fly the Delta Ray which is like driving a model T and lm going to retire this.the 600 is a great bargain and lm looking forward to many flights

Looks great in the air and deals very well with high wind. I’ve not found the wind limit yet. Tremendous penetration and the delta wing makes landing easy, lands in grass very well.

This is quite the fun flier. Quick and agile. Add the light kit for a little late afternoon flying (dusk).Not a beginner plane. Very fun for the intermediate pilot.

Takes about 30 seconds to take it out of the box, install the horiz stablilzers and add a battery: bind and go.It goes from a docile trainer to glider to a hold-on-to-your seat wild ride. Just a click of a switch gets you into safe mode and it will gently land at your feet. Wow! fun-fun-fun.
