Orion 5756 DualBeam LED Astronomy Flashlight

Very cool design: both red or white light and fully adjustable brightness, very rugged build, easy to use, plus it comes with batteries. Orion makes quality stuff, we own their binoculars and telescopes as well. Great company!

Works well. Does what it is supposed to do. The variable beam is nice. Not extremely bright but this is not a spotlight designed for lighting up the countryside a quarter mile away. It is more than adequate for finding your way around a campsite. Most flashlights, even red ones, are far too bright for use on close up objects like star charts but this one works well without destroying your night vision . Uses a common 9V battery which will last months or more due to the LED bulbs. The only negative is that for the price, it feels kind of flimsy and cheaply constructed. Definitely not waterproof. But with care it should last a good while. I have had one for about 10 years. I do not use it every day but often enough that the case is worn smooth and it shows its age but it still works like it is supposed to.

Seriously, how hard is it to ship a working product. Even tried replacing the battery, but, no luck. Save your time, and money, buy a different brand.

Wasn't working out of the box, even with battery connected. Had to jiggle and clean contacts to get any light to work. Thumbwheel for power/dimming mostly Off-Off-Dim-Bright in last few degrees of turning. It is an adequate dimmable red-white flashlight, purchased for aircraft cockpit use, rather than astronomy...

A bit expensive but works as described and easy to use!

The rotary switch is a good idea. And you can manage to adjust the light accordingly. A good idea is that it has 2 color LED. What is wrong with them is that the red LED are spot type. While the White are Flood type. In my opinion they should have been oposite. Or both flood light. This light is intended for close look. Other thing that I did not like about it, is the size. It could be smaller. I do not have the idea why they make it so big.

Cool Lampe pour l'astronomie qui évite l’éblouissement grâce a sa lumière rouge . La blanche éclair mieux quand on a fini ses observations et que l'on range son matériel. Seul défaut la pile semble plus difficile a changé qu'avec une lampe ordinaire... je conseil cette lampe
