This sharpener works so much better than the $200.00 Chefs Choice that I bought and don't use!

Works like a champ!
I have a similar high-quality sharpener (Pampered Chief in that it uses ceramic sharpeners that you drag the knife blade across. Problem with thd is Peter chef unit us that you have to hold the sharpener in one hand snd your knife on the other, so it takes a lot of coordination. What’s great about the suction cup unit is that it frees up both hands for sharpening so you can use way better control the knife through the guide. Upon receiving this unit I had about 10 of our kitchen knife plus’s my hunting knife super sharp with in 30 minutes. TeD the instructions carefully, and watch the video. Experiment first in a couple of cheap knives.

It actually works.
We wondered if this knife sharpener would turn out to be another ineffective spine-grating device as in the past—but no. The vacuum seal to the countertop works well, and running the blades over it doesn't produce an intolerable sound. Although it doesn't produce the necessary sharpness after just two passes (as in the promotional video), it does make a significant difference after three or four—making tomato slicing possible once again.
