I purchased this CeraVe Healing Ointment for my 1.5-year-old son, who has eczema-prone skin, and it has worked really well for us as a daily moisturizer and skin protectant. The texture is thick and occlusive, which helps lock in moisture, especially after bath time. I apply a thin layer to areas that tend to get dry or irritated, and it helps keep his skin soft and comfortable without causing any stinging or redness. What I really appreciate is that it’s fragrance-free and gentle, which is important for sensitive toddler skin. While it’s not greasy once absorbed, it provides long-lasting hydration and helps reduce dryness that can trigger flare-ups. Overall, this has become a staple in our routine for managing dry, eczema-prone skin, and I feel confident using it regularly on my child.

My dermatologist turned me on to this and I couldn't be happier with the results! It covers, protects & keeps the blisters/scrapes moisturized while they heal. Great value for the money. I apply it gently with a q-tip or wooden "spoon" twice a day with no irritation nor any inflamation. Fragrance free, easily absorbed (not greasy!) and it helps minimize the scarring. Good product!

Great for the winter times. Really helps lock in the moisture on the skin and is highly suited for cracked/dry skin. The consistency is how you would describe petroleum jelly feel which is great because a small amount goes a long ways. I use it on my feet, after I shower, and especially on my hands and elbows to help lock in moisture. It’s not heavy if you use an appropriate amount. There is no scent to it and it’s easy to apply. Like i said, it’s got a petroleum jelly feel which i like because it lasts longer than moisturizer/lotion. Overall great product for those trying to keep the skin moisturized and protected from the elements such as the cold.. (we all know the cold can really cause dry/cracked hands. I even use it as chapstick. Love it.

My review is based on my jar purchased from 2022 that still works very well. I’ve been having some dryness on my feet and toes and recently decided to open up a jar purchased back in 2022. Ointment is highly moisturizing and my feet and toes are no longer dry and my skin is smooth to the touch. Also works great on my dry elbows. That being said. I am extremely disappointed that CeraVe changed their formula. I added a pic of ingredients of CeraVe’s “improved formula” against the label of my 2022 jar of ointment. As you can see they increased the petroleum percentage, added glycerin, less ceramides, less tocopherol, less panthenol. Just compare both ointment labels and you will see the difference on formulas. I hope CeraVe reads this and goes back to their original formula.

CeraVe’ Healing Ointment helped my baby’s eczema get under control. For 2 months his skin was so flaky, rough and dry. No matter what I tried he was always so uncomfortable and itchy. In 10 days, my baby’s skin is now smooth, soft, the redness went down tremendously. And most importantly, he is happy and comfortable! The ointment is thick and moisturizing. It does suck putting baby clothes on after lol, but I would definitely recommend if your child is suffering from eczema.

I got this for the super-dry skin on my legs. It works well, although it seems a bit greasy.

I have really bad itchy eczema dry skin in the winter. For the past year or so it continued into the summer, so I have been dealing with this frustrating issue for quite a while. Sometimes it gets so bad I end up scratching my skin until it starts bleeding and I have been desperate for an affordable solution that doesn't involve doctor's appointments to fix. I've tried lotion after lotion after lotion. From CeraVe Intense Moisturizing lotion to Amlactin Intensive Healing lotion. Nothing had been working. After discovering that ointments are much better for constant skin irritation than your standard lotions, I bought this and I am so thankful that I did. For the first time ever, I have been able to see immediate improvement in my skin when I apply this at night. The itching is soothed so quickly after applying, and it helps me sleep instead of being kept up all night from scratching. It is so nice to wake up in the morning with little to no itching or burning. I would need to apply lotions 24/7 to even see a fraction of the results I see from this in just two nights. I am bad at consistent use of almost anything but when I go too long without using this it is very obvious which makes keeping up with consistent use so easy. Sometimes I even apply this to my lips at night before sleeping and it works so well for incredibly chapped winter lips if I do that for a couple nights. It may be a little sticky and the consistency is a little thick in comparison to lotion, but the results are well beyond worth it for me. I would recommend this to absolutely anyone with harsh painful itchy skin. It has been a miracle worker for me all winter long. The tub lasts quite a long while and a little goes a long way, so the size is perfect. And it doesn't have any noticeable scents or fragrances which makes it even more compatible for sensitive skin and people with sensitive noses which is a huge plus.

I slug this on at night after applying my serums. I always wake up with a moisturized face and noticed help with toning my hyperpigmentation I’ve been dealing with. I love how thick it is so you don’t need to use a lot of it (you can stretch the shelf life on this). I love using it on my feet at night too as well as my hands. It’s moisturizing, affordable, and the quality is perfect.👌🏾

Fast delivery and hydrates for approximately 5 hours. It's saved my nose after continuous blowing dried it out. No smell which is a plus, and doesn't sting on my fragile chapped skin. Looks and feels like gasoline, but superior product for healing.

I have used a lot of Cerave products since first purchasing it 5 years ago. Saw this and decided to try it out too. I am very glad I did as this is now my go to moisturiser. I also use Vaseline - a very effective emollient but it is quite shiny and sticky, so I can only use it at night or if I don't plan to go anywhere. Also Aquaphor, which I also like. Petrolatum is still the main active ingredient for all three. However, Cerave combines it with other ingredients that enhance absorption so it does not feel like it's sitting on the skin whilst still excellent protective barrier. It is quite a lot more expensive that Vaseline. As a face moisturiser though, it is way cheaper that other night moisturisers especially considering that you only need a very small amount to cover face, neck, chest and hands. It even comes in huge tubs that will last you for ages! It has no fragrance and has added hyaluronic/ceramide benefits. An all-around win for me.
