⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Handy Little Networking Tool
These Cable Matters crossover adapters are perfect for quickly converting a standard Ethernet cable into a crossover cable. I used them to directly connect two devices without a switch, and they worked flawlessly—no configuration headaches, just plug and play. They feel well-made with solid connectors and no loose fit. Having a 2-pack is convenient so I can keep one in my bag and one in my toolbox. ✅ Pros: Instantly converts a straight-through cable to crossover No loss in speed—gigabit works fine Compact, durable, and affordable ❌ Cons: Easy to misplace since they’re small Bottom line: A simple, reliable solution for direct device-to-device networking.

Easy mode crossover!
Easy to use. I needed something I could keep in my kit for when I go into blind repairs. These are great. They work exactly as they should and are compact making it easy to convert in a snap.

Pretty good, but a bit big
First off for those saying these cause high CPU load or overheating... I think you are on something. In most cases you will not need these at all. Most computers/switches/routers made in the last two decades auto sense and just link up. A plain network cable is all you need between switch and computer, or two computers. If doing computer to computer you will need to set IP addresses and other networking up to get it to work. I only have these since I collect and mess with gear from the 80s and 90s where this is needed. They are fine for this use. The con is size. They are fine in a single jack like the network card on my computer. But on the switch/hub side they can block ports. Since they flip upside down and get larger as they stick out, they can block up to five ports around them. In the photo you can see the issue. Plugged into port five I was able to cram yellow cables in 7 and 8 but I did not like the stress it puts on the jacks. 3, 4 and 6 are not able to be used. You can do better putting it in 1 or 2 and blocking less ports. But again, 99% of people out there do not need these with modern gear so the complaints I see are funny but seem lacking on knowledge. If you do want one you can make a 568 a to b cable out of junk most of us have in a bin at the office. But these will go in my tool bag for the rare times you need it.

Oh they work!
Ease of use, just plug the cables on each where they should be and they work perfectly. They fit right and they are firm. Definitely would recommend them.

Cheaper than replacing patch cords
Works great. Will save on parch cord replacement since the lock tabs break on me with all the testing I do, as well as just one side makes a cross over which I need on a few things I test.

They work but not as advertised
They turn any cord 6 feet or less into a cross over cable with no issue longer it will not be detected. Certain adapters like tp link usb-c to ethernet can’t see it. Same as ethernet cables with one ethernet tip and usb which it should work with. The tips are long so they fit into most ports and easy to remove. The speed is gigabit speed which is nice a good ethernet cable with these 512gb transfer in 40 minutes rather than the hours expected. The main issue is that if the device requires some adapter or addition the cable will work while this didn’t. A $27 cable or these $8 when I bought a pair. So the value is there you just have to figure out what works and doesn’t. Useful for the price but a cable is better wish the one I had never broke. Handy for most IT professionals to have.
