ALSMOST shutoff the dryer vent. Works horizontal or vertical.
The unit looks like it is a complete shut-off but I was surprised that there was still a small whisper of back exhaust after installation.

Potential Fire Hazard
I was told by the dryer maintenance company not to put this in my vent because of a potential fire hazard. So I sent it back!

The 2 metal rods sticking out of the damper makes it hard to attach a duct.

Excellent piece of kit
This is so much better than the plastic options, the springs work brilliantly without fail and it gives a nice snug close thanks to the rubber seal...so good, I came back for more!

Good product, I had to file down the pins to get it to slid into the tube, other than that it did the job.
