Joy to the World Advent Calendar (Countdown to Christmas)

It was fun to do with my grandchildren throughout the month. The calendar was a little bent.Wished it had been mailed with cardboard to keep it flat.

Very pretty picture with nice touches of glitter and we really like the Bible verses. However, there is no chocolate. This was a big disappointment, when I opened it expecting to see chocolate and instead it is just a large flat piece of card stock. The other advent calendar we ordered from Vermont Christmas Company has chocolate, so I must not have read this description very clearly, but we can't have one calendar for our child with chocolate and one for the other child without. :)

The calendar is very attractive, but I wouldn't recommend it as a teaching aid for the story of the Nativity. Each window has a Bible verse on the reverse side, but unlike most Advent calendars, the original picture and the one revealed on the opened window usually have nothing in common. This is also true of the Bible verse. Most advent calendars have verses that lead up to the birth of Jesus being revealed in the 24th window, but this calendar in -explicably takes a more random approach. I think the quotations regarding His birth showed up on the 18th which made the following days anti-climatic.

My six-year-old grandson loved doing this calendar. Each day he was anxious to open the little flap to learn what that day's scripture was. He loved memorizing the verse and usually asked questions. It was wonderful quality time.

Looks really nice; but won't really know how great it is until my granddaughter actually start opening it during the advent season. Happy with the scenario...that shows the pictures and reason for the season.

This is nicer than the typical cardboard, open a flap each day Advent Calendar in that the picture is better.

Nice advent calendar to enjoy the Holiday.

The kids were excited to read each days scripture.
