A classic that I wanted both my boys to have - simplistic but wholesome writing for boys growing up, and promoting values such as self improvement, self reliance, as well as friendship, family, and courage.

When I was shopping for a Boyscouts manual I wanted an original. I didn't want one that had been censored, or otherwise edited to fit any current politically correct narratives. I almost bought the non-legacy edition of this until I read reviews talking about how it had been edited to fit in with political correctness. Then I found this one.This one IS what you are looking for if you are like me. It was interesting that the publisher did feel compelled to add a warning to the beginning of this indicating it may be deemed racist or otherwise not politically correct in parts because of changing times, changing cultures, etc.Other than that it is what it claims to be. I personally think having this and the girl scouts manuals on my bookshelves are things that will always have value to current and future generations. This is especially true with the way the world is headed.
