IYKYK. Seems to work exactly as designed.
I have several women in my life who have to deal with anemia. Getting enough soluble iron in the diet is important and this little gadget seems to really help. I do not like how expensive it is. Let's be honest. For a chunk of cast iron, it is insanely expensive. However, I do care that the company is Canadian and appears to maintain excellent quality control, even though the fish is NOT made in North America. The fist appears to be made from pure iron. Not a pig iron with a lot of poisonous contaminants. There are a lot of "cast iron" fish and other objects being sold to do the same thing that this does, but they are not pure iron. They are basically made with old sewer pipes and melted down scrap, so you are putting whatever they had laying around in your body. Not smart. After a few uses, you can tell that they are working. If you lay them out to dry, the fish will get a very thin coat of rust. PERFECT! Toss it into a soup or pot of sauce and away you go. They come out clean again meaning all that iron got into the food. There is absolutely no change to the taste of prepared foods. If you put this in a glass of water and wait for a while, it will make the water taste a bit "rusty" or metallic, but of course it would. For the size of the fish to a glass of water, that is a lot of surface area for iron to transfer into the water. But if you boil water for a pot of noodles with the fish in the pot, you cannot tell that it was there. The noodles taste like they should. This fish is super easy to use. Just throw it in in a pot while cooking then take it out when serving. Like a very heavy bay leaf. The features on the fish make it very easy to clean. Give it a light scrub, dry it off if you like, and put it next to the stove to use the next time. I like the fish style. Playful. It is oblong in all dimensions, so it will NOT sit flat on the bottom of a pot. You can easily feel it with a utensil and move it around or take it out with ease. If you wanted, you could tie a string around the tail and tie it to the pot handle if you were worried about losing it. It is heavy, so it is almost impossible to miss when serving out of the pot. I really like this iron fish and it seems to do its job. Everyone reports that their iron levels are better than before.

Really works!
I was honestly skeptical about the Original Lucky Iron Fish when I first heard about it — a small piece of iron you just boil in water to help prevent iron deficiency sounded too simple to actually work. But after several months of using it, I can say it’s one of the most practical and sustainable health purchases I’ve made. It’s a 5/5 product for anyone who wants to naturally boost their iron without dealing with the side effects that come with traditional supplements. The concept is straightforward: you add the fish-shaped piece of iron to a pot of boiling water or soup with a bit of acidity (like a squeeze of lemon or a splash of vinegar) and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. The heat releases a safe, low dose of iron into the liquid. Then you remove the fish, dry it off, and use the water for drinking or cooking. It’s incredibly easy, completely tasteless, and fits seamlessly into daily routines. The biggest benefit for me has been avoiding the usual supplement issues. Iron pills often upset my stomach or cause constipation — but the Lucky Iron Fish doesn’t cause any of that. It’s a gentle, food-based way to get extra iron, and it feels like a more natural solution. After using it regularly for a few months, my energy levels improved, and my blood tests showed a noticeable rise in my iron levels. It’s reassuring to know I can maintain that without taking pills or powders. Another thing I love is how sustainable it is. One fish lasts for about five years, which saves money and cuts down on waste compared to constantly buying supplements. It also feels good knowing the company gives back — every purchase helps provide iron fish to communities affected by anemia around the world. It’s rare to find a health product that’s effective, ethical, and environmentally friendly all at once. The product itself is solid and well-made. It comes with clear instructions, a cleaning cloth, and storage info so you can keep it in good condition. It doesn’t rust or flake if you follow the directions, and it’s compact enough to store easily. I use it a few times a week, mostly when boiling pasta or making tea water, and it’s held up perfectly. If you struggle with low iron or want a simple, side-effect-free way to maintain your levels, the Lucky Iron Fish is a smart investment. It’s easy to use, effective over time, and completely safe — no additives, no aftertaste, no stomach issues. It’s the kind of product that quietly becomes part of your daily life and makes you wonder why more people aren’t using it. A genuine five stars for innovation, impact, and ease of use.

💫🌟💫Imagine I gave this 10 stars 💫 🌟 💫
Ok I got it on Nov 2025 and I can already see a significant improvement just by drinking it in juice. Let me explain I got this after I saw a short TikTok but my first thought was the benefits can’t be that good, you’re boiling metal into meals or drinks. But I was completely wrong & happy to admit it. I started making lemonades with different fruits in them to up the benefits and keep my hydration levels. Now I can say that I don’t feel as lethargic as before, I don’t have cold hands or feet before or during my periods, my nails have gotten stronger instead of brittle as they were before, I feel like my hair is falling less and the biggest improvement is that my migraines (due to PMS) are almost gone, which is a miracle without taking pills all the time. This is so easy to use and it doesn’t taste bad! The fish is super cute, I keep it in the kitchen in a separate small plate for me to use at least once or twice a week. I think for the price this is the smartest way to go. When properly care for this will last you years. Which bottle of pills you can say will do that for you and the family? Something to chew on for sure.

I'm so glad I discovered The Original Lucky Iron Leaf! As someone who struggles with iron deficiency anemia, I was looking for an alternative to traditional supplements that often cause unpleasant side effects. This product has been a game-changer for me. The concept is simple but brilliant - just add the iron leaf to your cooking water or drinks for 10 minutes, and it infuses the liquid with a significant amount of bioavailable iron. I've been using it daily in my soups, stews, and even my morning oatmeal. The best part is, there's no metallic taste or side effects like constipation. The leaf itself is made from high-purity, food-grade iron that's approved for fortification. It's extensively tested for safety and quality. I appreciate that it's manufactured in India by a reputable company that meets global standards. Another major plus is the 5 year supply included with each purchase. At just pennies per use, it's an incredibly affordable way to boost my iron levels long-term. And for every leaf sold, one is donated to an underserved community, which I love. Since incorporating The Original Lucky Iron Leaf into my routine, my energy levels have increased and my anemia symptoms have greatly improved. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a natural, side-effect free way to prevent or treat iron deficiency. It's a simple, effective, and socially conscious product that deserves 5 stars!

Easy to use
I put 4 out of 5 stars only because I have not used this very long. Love the concept of having an easy way to add iron to my diet.

Amazing!!!!
I purchased this product thanks to my daughter, who had heard about The Lucky Iron Fish somewhere in her own research and had mentioned it to me to check out. I am a person who has dealt with chronic iron-deficiency since I was a teen. So much so that I forget sometimes why I am in periods of extreme tired/exhaustion, and then something will remind me "Oh yeah - my iron must be low" and when I have it checked - yessiree, it's low. It has been a vicious cycle for me over the years and taking iron supplements in pill-form just has not really helped and typically added other issues (Stomach, constipation, etc). I started using the lucky fish a little over a month or so ago and went in to have my iron levels tested, and for the first time ever in my life the Dr. told me "You are no longer considered iron-deficient! Stop taking supplement pills! Keep doing what you are doing". My energy levels have balanced out, and if I feel slightly low-energy, I just ensure I drink 8 oz. of the iron water or if I have already, I will drink another 8 ozs, and it has made all the difference in the world for me! I have also now been able to donate Plasma again, which was something I enjoyed doing but had not been able to do with my iron-deficient issue. I have now started cooking regularly with the iron fish (soups, pasta sauces, etc) and I've noticed a better energy level in my kids also. A couple of things I recommend: 1) It is important that you wash it with warm/hot water after each use, and then let it cool down. 2) Be sure to dry it well so it doesn't rust. I rub a little olive-oil on it afterwards - between uses - to keep it conditioned (just like cast iron pots, etc). 3) I keep it stored in it's little box and I marked the date of when I purchased it, so I can remember when it's 5-year life is done. 4) I also do not recommend "over-boiling" it. I once accidentally forgot to set a 10-min. timer and it boiled way to long. The water had a metal taste to it afterwards and was not pleasant, so do not overboil.

Changed my life
This fish has changed my life. I thought I had chronic mental and physical fatigue but I was actually just very iron deficient for months on end. Works ridiculously better than any other iron supplements I’ve tried.
