I used CandiBactin BR in 2004 as a part of a candida cleanse. The product was recommended by a nutritionist at the Continuum Center for Health and Healing in New York City. I first did a round of oral ketoconazole as prescribed by my gynecologist. I then used CandiBactin for 3 months while also on a very strict candida diet. At the time, I was so sick that I experienced a lot of stomach upset with this product initially, but I kept with it, and my stomach upset resolved over time, and my candida symptoms finally went away. I ended up staying on the diet for a year, and I didn't have any further yeast problems for 6 years. I'm personally pretty convinced through my own trial and error with products that a) this is one of the very best and b) that there is a strong connection between yeast and the liver. CandiBactin has ingredients that both kill yeast as well as assist in liver cleansing. Once I finished the regimen, I followed the use of CandiBactin BR with Metagenics probiotics, which I stayed on for several years until I was no longer able to buy them at Invite Health (then I switched to Renew Life). Last year, the yeast came back, so I decided to give CandiBactin BR another try, also while working with a nutritionist. I'm once again on the candida diet and I've now been on these pills for about a month. My experience this time around is easier--I've had very little stomach discomfort at all, and things are going well. I feel like it's too soon to say I've had another "cure" (I use that term loosely because for those with chronic candida, it's not so much a cure as coaxing the yeast back into remission since it's something that is a natural part of the human ecosystem that needs to be put back into balance). But, I'm very encouraged. Also, this time around, I'm taking probiotics in the morning and the CandiBactin BR at night. Not sure if this matters or will make a difference, but I figure it can't really hurt. And once I'm done with the CandiBactin BR, I'll definitely keep taking the probiotics. So, that's my current story. I think it's a great, high-quality product. Also, I have a ton of allergies and food sensitivities, and this product doesn't seem to bother me at all (I've had bad reactions to Standard Process products, for example). Definitely check the label and make sure this will be OK for you in terms of allergies, but I HIGHLY recommend it and feel that I was steered in the right direction in 2004 and again today.

I found that this, in combination with the CandiBactin-AR, was effective in treating methane SIBO that had proven resistant to antibiotics. Your doctor (if you can find one knowledgeable about SIBO) may recommend a prokinetic such as prucalopride as a follow up to prevent relapse. My doctor mentioned that there was increasing evidence that berberine is an effective SIBO treatment. It actually seems to work so far! Took it for a week (5 days of 1 pill with breakfast and dinner, 2 days of 2 pills with breakfast and dinner) and haven't felt this good in nearly two years since being diagnosed with SIBO. Going to stop taking it for a few weeks and see if the positive affects stick around and update this review because it's working so well that I'm almost in disbelief! It's been two days since I stopped taking it, now I just have a ginger supplement after breakfast and dinner and feel completely fine. The best part is that this seems to have had no negative side affects on my good gut flora, all it did was wipe out the extra bacteria in my small intestine. No acid reflux, no indigestion, little to no SIBO symptoms. Rifaximin (antibiotic for SIBO) nearly destroyed my life about 2 years ago when I was first diagnosed because it helped with my SIBO but ruined my gut flora. I will warn that the first night I took it my small intestine went nuts as the bacteria started to die off. Lots of gas and discomfort, but it wore off about 12-24 hours later. The bacteria die off really happened fast!

Superior to other brands in effectiveness and potency

was very happy (and relieved) to receive these directly from the Metagenics company, both the AR & BR labeled with "Practitioner Exclusive" on bottles. I was a little bit apprehensive about ordering these off amazon. This will be my second time treating my SIBO unfortunately, after not following through with after treatment protocol and finding out I had an H Pylori infection which needed addressing first. But these REALLY work. I had hydrogen dominant sibo, and after about a week of detox and die off reactions, started feeling SO much better and all my histamine related issues vanished, eczema cleared up, most other symptoms and body systems started balancing. It seemed miraculous! I'm looking forward to retreating after H Pylori protocol and getting back to feeling good again :) These are strong and it's important to follow a protocol suited to you after treatment to heal gut lining and rebalance probiotic bacteria. My doctor had me take 2 of each 2x day with meals. I follow Dr. Nirala Jacobi's Bi-phasic diet. Things I highly recommend for sibo treatment and to do your research on: simple, natural *capsule free* prokinetics: -fresh ginger tea at least 2x day (between meals) -triphala powder, 1/4-1/2 tsp 2x day (between meals) continue prokinetics after treatment! bitters are also great milk thistle 150mg 1-3x day for liver/detox support consider biofilm breakers if severe sibo gas levels, but I don't think they're always necessary. note things like ginger, coconut oil, black cumin seed oil are natural biofilm breakers activated charcoal and/or bentonite clay for 4-5 days first week and third week of treatment to help "mop up" die off sacharomyces boulardii turmeric tea or supplement, taken with fat black cumin seed oil for histamine intolerance, also antimicrobial (make sure to eat lots of omega 3s, as it's high in omega 6) other things that really helped my histamine intolerance were lots of fresh herbs, quercetin, and Ancestral Supplements desiccated kidney (high in DAO, selenium) also if you're missing garlic on low fodmap/sibo diet, I make crushed garlic infused olive oil which is great to drizzle on things and also has antimicrobial properties the only things I have to complain about is the price of these on amazon is completely unreasonable. I got these from my doctor for ~$60-70 each, and would have again if it wasn't a long drive. also I REALLY wish companies, especially well researched driven ones like this would STOP using TOXIC fillers, excipients, coatings like hypromellose and magnesium stearate which is in the BR formula. but this is highly effective and treatment is WAY more important that avoiding those things.

Great product to help with SIBO.

It is in a glass bottle. I ordered CandiBactin-BR and a bottle of CandiBactin-AR. Both bottles were individually wrapped. Upon arrival, the glass bottle of Candibactin-AR was shattered with pieces of glass mixed in with the gel capsules. Luckily, the glass bottle of CandiBactin-BR was intact. These are not gel capsules but small round little pills. I am currently completing a diff treatment. As soon as I am done with the current treatment, I will switch over to the probiotics.

The warning label on the bottle was not mentioned in the description on Amazon, nor was it shown on any of the pictures of the bottle. "Notice: Do not use if you have or develop diarrhea, loose stools, or abdominal pain because rhubarb may worsen these conditions and be harmful to your health". If I had seen this label or text in the Amazon description, I would not have ordered this product. The above are some of the symptoms of SIBO, which is what this supplement is recommended for. OF COURSE I HAVE LOOSE STOOLS! Omission of this information is dangerous and immoral. I want a refund for my 2 bottles!

Good stuff. I just wish they also had Candibactin AR
