That's A Big ship.
Basically the same kit that was released in the 90s but with some updated parts. Nice detail sheet that's far better than it's original and still contains The Lacota decals too. I have not built her yet but I did build the original kit years and years ago and yeah, it gives a nice finish with the proper care and skill.

WOT NO AZTECS
Been wanting this kit for a while now so when it came up at a "reasonable" price I ordered one, it was from Amazon US but it actually arrived five days early (Now there's a novelty). Ok, now to the kit itself. The first thing I noticed were the mangled sprues. They're all over the place, typical Americans can't even wait for them to cool down properly, hopefully the parts aren't warped (No pun intended). Not the best plastic I've ever seen either but typical AMT which is a bit flimsy on a lot of the parts though the saucer is pretty thick stuff. It would be a good idea the wash the sprues in warm soapy water as there's either release agent or just muck on some of the parts. By the way, you can forget about the Aztecs, there is none, you have to buy them separately, good luck with that one. It's a fairly large model when finished at 18" inches long but nowhere near the standard of the Polar Lights 1/350 scale kits of which I have all the Trek kits (Yes even Jayla's house, the Franklin). Anyhow, to summarise: Not really worth £50 quid without the Aztecs and the plastic is pretty poor on some of the structural parts. That being said, I have seen a built and lighted (lit) finished model on YouTube and it looks pretty amazing. I believe you'd have to drill out every window as in the Revell Voyager kit if you intend to light it up. BEWARE: There's two very smallparts, parts 18 on the saucer top sprue, these can easily be lost, one of mine had detached and could fit through the air holes in the bags and be lost, overlooked or mistaken for bits of broken sprue. Addendum: I started building a few of the sub-assemblies but it's an awful kit to put together. Bad parts fit, warped parts, gaps, horrible. And no Aztec decals which will cost you another £40 approx. If you can find some.

Does not allow you to make the enterprise B
This kit states on the box that it contains parts to allow you to build the enterprise B, it does not, it includes odd parts from the older Amt kit that allow you to add minimal 1701b details but the flared hull, nacelles and saucer with extra details are not included. Only some light external touches from the previous kit Utterly disappointed for the price, it's a half arsed kit

Looks accurate
Have given the model as a gift and it was well received

I didn’t expect this model to be a super easy build when I bought it. The nacelles for excelsior class ships are really long, so I was prepared for getting the pylons to be a haste in itself. I had some trouble keeping it intact during the glueing, and I imagine that may be an issue with everyone who gets it, but the outcome was definitely worth the effort. I got the Aztec decal set with this model, and it definitely made it look much nicer. I only wish a chose a darker paint for the base color. All in all, it’s a great model, I just wish there were larger contact points for glueing it all together.

Não gostei do produto. Muitas peças para montar. Poderia ter vindo montado.

Even though I didn't check the dimensions of the finished model,it actually is bigger than I thought it would be. I'm very Happy with the overall model,.it will be an interesting project once I paint it. Still trying to decide which version to build, although leaning to the Star Trek VI version

The Excelsior class is one of the most beautiful starships in STAR TREK. Unfortunately, this model kit is of poor quality. The scale is far too small for a ship with this level of detail. Unfortunately, some parts do not fit properly, especially the warp nacelles. A real disaster are the decals. Many of them crumbled after only a few seconds in the water, so they could not be used anymore. Furthermore, it is outrageous that the Aztec decals have to be bought separately. They are part of the original Excelsior model and should be included in the kit. Apart from the high price, these decals are not or only very difficult to get. The building instructions are unfortunately also quite imprecise (compared to other model kits). I hope that there will be a higher quality model kit of the Excelsior someday. This version is unfortunately a big disappointment.
