Original Arch Light Filtering Fabric Shade, Natural, 72" x 36"

I bought this for the half circle arch window in the front of my westerly facing home. I use that room as my work from home office, and the afternoon sun heats that room up quite a bit late in the day.This paper fabric shade is easily cut to size for perfect half circle arches. My window turned out to be not quite perfect, and is a little wider on the sides / shorter on the top of the arch. You can manually trace/trim the required shape out of the shade. In my case, I just trimmed the whole thing to the same size to fit the shortest part of the arch, and then spread the sides apart slightly in the plastic base. Most windows have 1/2" or more of frame that can hide some of these differences as well.Also, instead of adhering the bottom of the shade directly to my window frame/ledge, I adhered it to two thin strips of wood roughly the width of the plastic holder so that when in place, they fill the base of the window itself (think two wood paint stirrers, but maybe a little longer and maybe a little less wide.) This allows me to easily fold up and / or remove the shade altogether if I ever want to have full direct sunlight. I also have a cat who like to climb and she has messed up the shade in the past, so with this change I can easily take it down, fix the pleats and put it back up.I've had two of these (thanks to aforementioned cat,) and they don't appear to yellow or get appreciably brittle as I have seen in other cellular / paper shades.They do a good job of diffusing the direct sunlight, and while they don't prevent the room from warming up, they do keep it at least a little cooler, and provide a more even light through the window.

Received one shade in a long thin box where half of the cardboard was missing and clear packing tape covered it. The tape was stuck to the fabric of the shade and one of the edges where I had to carefully remove it. Shipping box was plenty large for the item and was not damaged. However, the plastic piece where you insert each end of the shade that is a half circle should have had a base with two sides and I only received a completely broken piece of one side. Unusable as a bracket but I improvised. The shade is a challenge to install if the size of your window doesn't match the arch exactly. And it is not as sheer as I expected for filtered light - much thicker/more white than anticipated. It worked out overall as it is a good value for the price. Request that Amazon fulfilment be more careful packaging. Thank you.

I have a large half circle window in my living room that’s facing the sun. It would get so hot by the afternoon. The light would also make it unbearable to do things like watch TV. I received this yesterday and it’s like night and day. The temperature was 108 degrees today but somehow felt cooler in my house than when it’s 90° outside. Its not blackout but more like a light filtering shade. I felt it made the room look even brighter because it disperses the light. Loved the view before out of my window but it’s hard to ever want to go without this again! There were measurements on the shade already. Making it a simple and quick installation. Just cut with a kitchen knife and stick on.

Did not use the adhesive strip as I cut it a tiny amount large so the shade itself provides enough grab to keep it in place. This affords easy removal for cleaning.

This was amazingly easy and the instructions are super simple to follow. I found a razor blade was the easiest way to make the cut. It was a perfect fit and I couldn't be more pleased. Now my early morning video calls won't be dealing with direct sunlight on the camera!
