This is a very good utensils. However, this tool takes a little practice to get the hang of. For salads, stir-frys, hard to peel vegetables it is very handy. I suggest, as they teach in culinary school, create a flat side on your hard vegetables, like carrots, to keep it stable. I like to peel potatoes by pulling this peeler towards your body. Remember, this is as sharp as a knife, use it with caution. It will peel your fingers just like a vegetable. This is just like using a mandolin, mind your digets.
