The first wave of cosmic forces have arrived on Earth, desperate to reclaim the Radiant - and as they tear through Chicago, the only thing standing in their way is RADIANT BLACK and some unexpected new allies. In the aftermath, the city of Lockport starts to heal - but if they no longer want a superhero living amongst them, is it already time for our hero to hang up his suit for good? Radiant Black is the first series in the Massive-Verse. Collects RADIANT BLACK #7-12 WHAT IS THE MASSIVE-VERSE? Kyle Higgins & Marcelo Costa's breakout hit Radiant Black took superhero storytelling to new heights. But Radiant Black isn't the only character inhabiting the MASSIVE-VERSE. There's a whole universe for readers to explore! Characters like Rogue Sun, Inferno Girl Red, The Dead Lucky and more yet to be revealed each of them has a different story to tell, different adversaries to face and they each occupy a very different corner of this shared universe. What are you waiting for? Now's the time to get into the MASSIVE-VERSE! Review: Reclamation - Book two of the series of paperbacks that collect issues of the comic 'Radiant Black.' A superhero series about people who find alien technology and use it. This contains issues seven to twelve. It is a bit violent at times, so it's best for mature readers. It's not a jumping on point either as there's nothing to bring you up to speed on book one. So new readers should start with that. Each issue has a chapter page so you can see where they start and finish. Picking up right from the end of volume one, a lot happens very quickly. There are a few fight scenes in here, including one from the opening. They can be a little tricky to follow as the action is fast without much dialogue. But that does add a certain amount of realism to the whole thing. But other stuff does happen as well. Character driven stuff. This does gradually develop some things and some of the people. As with volume one, the last issue of it is devoted to giving a bit of character backstory. Which is good to have. There are also some scenes which are very strong on the science fiction. You might feel you have to bear with these as much as the fight scenes. But give them a chance, and they do work. Because this does keep many things superbly completely and utterly alien. it's very effective. Can't really say too much without spoilers. I think all you need to be aware of going into this is as I've mentioned above. It's a read that might not be for some because of the way it tells it's story. But if you can get into it, you will be rewarded handsomely. It's a very good and very original comic. I am very much looking forward to book three. This one does have some bonus material in the shape of a back up from the comic. This is really good and one page in particular is very funny. There's also a gallery of covers from the individual issues. Review: Amazing - Absolutely amazing

Power Rangers crossed with Invincible!
I don't think I was particularly looking for a new superhero universe to get invested in, but Radiant Black has sucked me in and now I'm along for the whole ride! The visuals in this book are incredible, but they're supported by some really great characters and a FUN story! I know this book gets compared to Power Rangers a lot, and I was a huge Power Rangers fan as a kid. I think this series gives me enough of the nostalgia for that TV show that I need, while managing to be very much it's own thing.

Disappointing superhero comic series - could be a bit better.
Continuing on from Volume 1, this series is about the Radiants. The plot jumps about a bit and the artwork, most of the time, is clear apart from the fight scenes which are confusing and unclear. The characters are interesting but the whole thing doesn't really work for me. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

Radiant Black Vol. 2

Like the story arc
Bought the first one at comic con after speaking to the writer. Have so far enjoyed the approach to the universe, and especially like the art. A nice break from the more mainstream superhero set (with so much content from DC & Marvel).
