Great Product, ignore the paint snobs who knock the detail
I recently purchased four of these packs, two here on Amazon, and two from a local game store. I paid $6 more for the ones from the game store than the ones I purchased here. I am dumbfounded by the people who say these miniatures are not well painted with poor details. They must be paint snobs who paint their own figures spending hours on each, because I thought these were fantastically painted and the details are relatively clear. Some do look better than others, but overall I will not complain, especially since I thought the price was fair. I will list each miniature of the four packs I purchased. Box #1 - Amazon Purchase Pegasus (Large figure) Green Hag (Medium figure) Mane (possibly Hane?) Demon (Small figure) Southern Halfling Female Bard (Small figure) Box # 2 - Amazon Purchase Ogre Mage (Large figure) Wraith (Medium figure) - this figure was also translucent and awesome looking! Rock Gnome Female Wizard (Small figure) Southern Halfling Female Bard (Small figure) Box # 3 - Game Store Purchase Wyvern (Large figure) Bugbear (Medium figure) Mindflayer (Medium/Small figure?) Quickling (Small figure) Box # 4 - Game Store Purchase Pegasus (Large figure) Green Hag (Medium figure) Mane (Possibly Hane?) (Small figure) Southern Halfling Female Bard (Small Figure) Out of four boxes I got two boxes with the exact same contents, but they were purchased from two different places. Still I find this odd considering these are supposed to be blind completely random boxes. Yes it can happen, but what are the chances? Overall I enjoyed my purchase and will continue to buy more in the future. If I get more of the exact same combination boxes again I will write about it and will adjust my review accordingly.

Great Mini's
Ok so I got the Icon of the realms booster box, and the Icons of the realms starter set in the mail today. I have to say that these are pretty well done mini's. The blind booster box comes with 4 random minis, and mine had a Halfling Thief, a Frost Giant, an Elven Guard, and a Bugbear, which equates to 1 large, 2 medium, and 1 small base. The Starter set is 6 non-random minis, included in all starter sets are Drizzt Do'Urden, Sun elf Mage, Northlands fighter, Human ranger, Female dwarven warrior, and a Halfling thief. 5 Mediums, and 1 small base. These are the exact same size as the old mini's. So the new art style is completely different than the old sets. I have to say its not better or worse from what i've seen, it's just different. The brown bugbear is the new one, and the Grey Bugbear is from the older sets of D&D mini's line. Surprisingly the best looking mini has to be the Frost Giant, it has great details, and the paint is very well done. Also the best looking mini in the starter set is the Sun elf mage. Her fireball is opaque but has some detail painting done that makes it stand out. I did notice in the Starter Set that they spent way more time painting the details, and they used a better paint as the quality of these minis are above the boosters level, since you can see them trough the package. It looks like the Minis in the booster did not get as much time spent on painting the details, but the casting and designs of the minis are very good overall. So here is a price per mini if you buy from amazon. 1 booster $14.99(free shipping) price per mini $3.74 per mini 8 boosters $89.99(free shipping) price per mini $2.81 per mini (if you buy 8 normally its $114, but there are sellers on amazon offering 8 for $89.99) I also looked up the Reaper bones line, and most individual minis go for $4.50-$7.00 each. There are a few cheap ones, but if you want alot of minis these are the best bang for your buck. So Overall I have to say these minis are better than the old Dungeons and Dragons line of minis, and are better quality than the pathfinder line because these are made from a different plastic.

Excellent miniatures and a solid value, take horror stories with a grain of salt.
First box I purchased came with a silver dragon (large), two heroes (small), and a monster (small). Second box I purchased was packed with a red and bronze dragon (both large), a hero (small), and a monster (small). Of course, this is luck of the draw, but each box guaranteeing atleast one large miniature maxes this a fair value. The miniatures themselves look excellent. Having looked over various customer photos online (typically close-ups), I was worried I would get a mixed bag when it came to quality but decided to order anyway. All of the figures I've received (including those that came in the Icons of the Realm Starter Set, have excellent paint jobs employing painting techniques uncommon $15.00 6" action figures. Dry brushing is mostly spot on, accents are well-used, palettes are vibrant, and even the washes have been applied with light hand that still draws out depth. Aside from the red dragon having wings folded a little more than I care for (easily remedied without damaging the figure or paint by gently bending), all of the miniatures are damage-free, flexible enough to allow play, yet solid enough to maintain poses while stored. I'll be picking up atleast a few more boxes of this line to fill out my collection more before picking up individual pieces at my local game shop for the rarer figures I'm after. Couldn't be happier with these products, I'd recommend getting atleast one box to see if you feel they're worth your investment.

A game changer for those who don't want to individually buy and paint their own minis
These random booster box sets of D&D minis are pretty good, and I'll go over the pros/cons in this review. Take all of the horror story reviews with a grain of salt, because while there may be some truth to them, they're certainly rare compared to the good things. I've found that these minis have greatly improved my group's gaming sessions and I will continue to buy them until the second run of booster boxes releases. **Pros** - I feel like I get my money's worth out of buying these boxes on Amazon, not just because of the lower price, but because as most D&D or Pathfinder players would know, buying minis individually isn't cheap. Getting 4, even though they're random, for about $12 is a good deal. A bonus is that you have a chance to get something really good, rare, and expensive. - Out of the several boxes I have purchased from various locations (Amazon included), I can tell that the minis are good quality. While one or two may have been a bit bent (looking at you Sun Elf guard), I've never received a broken one, and they generally look and feel quite sturdy. So far, everything I've received has stood the test of multiple gaming sessions. - Pre-painted means less hassle. I don't have to spend time worrying about painting them myself. **Cons** (take each one of these lightly, because while they're listed here, I consider none of them deal-breakers) - The paint jobs on the minis is sometimes a bit sloppy or un-detailed. If you're a fan of high-detail, you might just want to repaint them yourself. The faces of some of the more humanoid minis especially are rather unimpressive. But hey, at least they're painted at all! - The stands for the flying minis (which there are plenty of) are rather hard to put together. It takes quite a bit of dexterity and determination to get the little plastic stand fitting right way into the mini, and then into the stand. Once it's there, hope it stays in? Maybe glue would help. - My only major complaint, which may just be bad luck on my part, is about the variation. Since they've come out, I've purchased no less than 10 boxes. I've yet to receive a single freakin' dragon, but I have plenty of stone giants, sun elves, and cultists. I enjoy having the minis, and I'll certainly use them (even if only for back-ups or give-aways), but cut me a break here! I feel like out of the 44 different minis that one could get by buying these boxes, I've only got maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of them due to duplicates. Less duplicates would be nice. It seems like some of the "better" minis are quite rare in these sets. Either way, I'd say that if you're interested in playing D&D with minis, you can't really go wrong in picking up a few of these. Just don't expect a ton of dragons. Worst case scenario, you get a few monsters that you won't use. Best case scenario, you get some awesome minis that, even if you didn't want them, could be resold for more than you paid for the booster box itself. I'm quite happy with my purchase, as they've made a world of difference in my gaming.

Rolled a NAT 20 on these
I am a newer player to TTRPGs. Purchased a box to see if I wanted to use these in my first game as DM. I was suppressed by the quality, detail and value. Packages was good, maybe over done, as it was triple boxed Will be purchasing a brick in the near future.

Great product
This series has had the best miniatures of all the D & D blind boxes I have tried so far. I have gotten at least one dragon and some cool monsters in each box. In the most recent one I got the bronze and copper dragons along with some cool monsters. Overall I'm super happy with this purchase.

Will not buy this again
First off, let me start by saying that I have purchased a slew of WizKid miniatures - Pathfinder and Dungeons & Dragons. So, I am accustomed to getting a zingers or damaged miniatures here and there. I'm also accustomed to getting repeats, as we're dealing with random miniatures. Knowing what miniatures are available with each set, I know the gamble and take the risk. Overall, I'm accustomed to the comparable prices for each random boxed set, and while I'm rarely "ecstatic" over purchases, I'm content enough to keep coming back. Not this time. So, what sets this set apart from the others? Though some of the miniatures were bent - they weren't irredeemably so. Two of the characters had weapons with long handles - a gnome and frost giant. Not that I'm happy to have this sort of thing, but it's not all that uncommon. Hot water and cold water generally do the fix. However, I have a blight miniature that is the "leaning man of Alabam" (nod to John Prine) and cannot be straightened. Moreover, the blight's paint was poorly applied and all over the base as well. Pardon my French, but it looks like crap. Moreover, two of the other three - the gnome and a goblin are equally poor quality - the gnome much more than the goblin. (The frost giant was decent overall, through the face paint is somewhat pale.) So, I am left to assume that Tyranny of Dragons, which was an early set, precedes efforts to perfect or improve models. Last, packaging was atrocious. In fact, the entire back of the box was stripped off. It led me to suspect that someone had opened it previously, but all the miniatures were there. So, long story short, I have no reason to stop buying WizKid products, but don't feel it's worth the gamble to spend any more money on the Tyranny of Dragons set. Which is a bummer, because it did appear to have some cool looking miniatures.

Great stuff, fare deal
The product I got was geart, and had some very good details on the miniatures, but the it is a little bit challenging to put some of the miniatures on the pull they come with, but it is a pretty good price, and pretty cool miniatures. I would buy this product if you are looking for some nice mini's
