Not as sticky as other brands I've used for tie dye, but it seems to be strong enough and I've only managed to break it when pulling a tie once. It does bind and "lock" fairly well, although it has a habit of falling off the spool while I'm loading my sinew puller (again due to lack of sticky wax) so we've had a few tangles to navigate. Doesn't always give clean resist lines though; it does allow dye underneath in places even when I'm sure it's pulled really tight over several wraps. As I use several metres at a time, it's worth saying that if properly rinsed with warm water and a bit of washing up liquid (dish soap) those long lengths can be reused as generic ties instead of buying kite string to hold spirals, folds and scrunches in place.
