Blank Canvas: The Amazing Story of a Woman Who Awoke from a Coma to a Life She Couldn’t Remember

I picked up this book last night and never put it down. Such an inspiring story. I am Telling all of my friends to read it, I am challenged and encouraged by her faith and strength!

Can you imagine a 30-year-old mother who is in the hospital about to have your third child a daughter. You have your daughter but your body gets meningitis infection that puts you in a coma. The doctors tell your family that there is little hope of you coming out of the coma but you prove them wrong and you wake up but there is only one problem you think that you are 17 years. old and when they tell you that your married and you are in the hospital to give birth to your daughter you tell them or at least that is not possible as you know you are still a virgin. The only people you recognize are your parents who have always brought you comfort. You have forgot even the simplest things like writing a check. You are told if you want to go home there are goals and task that have to be meet and so the work begins but so do the secrets and the little white lies. Follow along as you read about the struggles you can only imagine the author faces along with the little wins in an attempt to get her memory back. This lady leans on family and her faith to get her through. This was an incredible story. I would rate this 3 1/2 stars out of 5

Blank Canvas by Marcy Gregg is a wonderful memoir that gives a testament to finding your way again and keeping your faith.This is such a wonderful example of what faith and hope can achieve. Ms. Gregg gives her breathtaking experience of losing her memory after an illness and coma, but one thing that did not disappear was her faith.M. Gregg tells of her trials, ongoing recovery with autoimmune issues as well, her family and friend support and structure, and the path that she has traveled since that pivotal moment in time.Her faith is truly remarkable and truly inspiring. Such a beacon of hope that everyone should read.5/5 stars

A truly unbelievable story of a woman that faces memory loss, addiction, hardship, hope, recovery, and redemption. Her life's message that "every layer matters" will resonate with every person in every season, giving hope and beauty to life's messiest and darkest moments. Her perseverance and steadfastness in faith through trials is the example needed in today's world. There are many stories within the book that left me in tears and jaw dropped - the one about the 911 call and her neighbor is a favorite and true testament in God's faithfulness and goodness. In addition to the book, Marcy's art is truly anointed and beautiful. Her pieces are wonderful illustrations that there is beauty in the abstract - in life and in art. I love that there's a picture insert as well. Overall, a beautiful book and inspiring story with a message to take with you all your days. A great read for all!

This was an incredible true story of one woman’s journey to recover her memory and her life after awaking from a coma. Trying to fake her way through a life she couldn’t remember left Gregg empty and ultimately drove her to addiction. Yet with the physical, mental and emotional odds stacked against her, Gregg overcame her demons through the power of faith and the unwavering love of her family. This story will inspire anyone who is walking through their own battles, and remind them of the hope and freedom that is available when they surrender trying to control their lives.

Blank Canvas is a book about hope in a situation that seems hopeless. Marcy Gregg is a wonderful storyteller. I couldn't put this book down. Once I finished it, I couldn't stop talking about it. You will find hope and beauty in Blank Canvas.
