Fantastic
I’ve been using WED clay for years through school, but this is the first time I bought it myself and yup, it’s WED clay! Not a single thing to complain about. It’s the perfect moisture, the right weight and size, easy to mold, and more.

This stuff is an absolute DREAM
My sister and I decided to try our hand at sculpting for the first time. This clay was incredible for us and SO enjoyable to work with.It was workable right out of the box and stays workable in our case for weeks (just covered in a plastic bag and spritzed a few times in between weekends). We worked these progressively on three separate weekends and just wrapped them in plastic garbage bags spritzed with water in between sessions. One 25 lb block was PLENTY for one full-sized head sculpture (I'd say each one head used about 70-75% of a 25 lb block). And if I understand correctly, once we mold and cast these guys in plaster, the clay can be repurposed and reused over and over. And I believe if it dries then it can be rewet and reworked. In any case, what a great clay! I don't see myself ordering anything else for my future projects: this stuff is incredible. As an aside, for anyone wanting to get into sculpting busts and has no idea, check out Tip Toland's sculpting tutorial on youtube. AMAZING walk through sculpting a head. We're so happy with what we came up with.

Amazing stuff
This stuff is awwwwesome! I've never really worked with clay before. I saw a clock I liked and wanted to try and replicate in a crafty and affordable way. It was super easy to work with. It's slow drying. Made my rather large clock yesterday afternoon and it's still bendable today which allowed me to straighten it out just a hair here n there.. No cracking so far. Can't wait for It to fully harden so I can paint it! It's a little sticky.. Like it kept sticking to my board I was working on.. I put some cling wrap down under it once I realized that would be a problem down the road. The cling wrap has it not sticking to my work surface now n it seems to peel right off. Like I said I've never really worked with clay before.. Tried sculpey once a long time ago, and it cracked n just didn't work out. So happy to have discovered this! Also you get a lot of clay!

Review as a 'bed/dam' material for oil based clays molding
For those used to oil based clay you'll find this to be extremely soft: for my purposes this is beneficial as hard modelling clays can be pushed into the material readily. When compared to plain water based clays it is, however, fairly sticky on tools, fingers, and oil based clays. Despite drying more slowly than regular water based clays it will still dry quite fast in small pieces or thin coatings. The result is when forming your 'bed' small pieces of this clay will stick to the surface of your oil based clay then dry and have to be picked off. The stickiness also means that you will need to take some care to clean your oil based clay original having removed it from the bed. Since I use a hard oil based clay (Chavant NSP hard) I can actually clean my model with water relatively safely so it's not too much of a problem but in future I think I'll go for a regular water based clay.

LAGUNA CLAY'S WED CLAY
Sorry, I can't review this item yet because I haven't even opened the box it was delivered in. This will be used for a sculpturing project of a head and neck view of my daughter, who is now 40 !! That is amazing. It was just the other day I saw her squeezing out of the womb. Check back with me in a couple of months,

Best sculpting clay!
I am in love with this clay. I use it to sculpt masks that I make silicone and fiberglass molds from for fursuits and costumes. It is infinitely better than the usual white clay you buy from the craft store. It has a finer texture and dries very slowly and gradually, so you have a long working time. The slow drying time also gives you a range of states the clay is in, from squishy and fast to leathery and easily detailed. Previously I was using plasticine, but that stuff is hard on my hands. I don't quite remember how much volume the 25 lb block took up, but I think it was about 12x8x6 inches. It was a lot! Oh also! Before I poured my silicone layer, I dusted my sculpt with Krylon 6-Ounce Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating Aerosol Spray to seal it. It helped create a barrier that protected my sculpt from being damaged by my brushes as I applied the silicone.
