Fun little project for my 6 yr old
Fun little project for my 6 yr old. Don't expect this to go super fast but it is very fun for my boy. One thing I would mention, the directions are easy enough if you pay attention, but there is a missing step. After you insert the metal rods for the body there are 2 screws that can be screwed in from underneath to secure the rods. I assume they added this in later and it is not mentioned in the directions. Great fun for kids.

He put it together with ease and has enjoyed playing with it with his younger siblings
Bought this kit for my 19 y.o. Engineering student, as sort of a gag gift, along with some other science kits. He put it together with ease and has enjoyed playing with it with his younger siblings. I'm delighted they still make affordable science kits for "kids" that are both fun and interesting.I've bought other science kits that turned out not to be fun to put together nor interesting during the process, so kudos to this vendor for hitting both marks!

So that was great. Our biggest issue is that the CD wheels ...
This was a gift for my son. He is was able to assemble it with no problem and minimal help. So that was great. Our biggest issue is that the CD wheels keep cracking or just falling off and the motor gear grinds a bit.It is a good project for kids to work on but buy a stack of blank CDs when you purchase this so that you have enough wheels.

Fun
I got this on a lark for an 8 and a 10 year old for Christmas, not thinking it would be a big hit, but it was! We were able to put this together in 30 mins. We did have an issue where it would not run (this was our error, not the product), but the kids were able to figure out that issue and fixed it! The kids had so much fun playing with it after it was assembled too! It was a nice intro to some science/engineering concepts. Now the 8 year old wants to build robots :)

Blending the old with the new
Bought 4 of these for boys whose ages range from 5-10. All of them looked at the box for a long time and then when they finally understood what it was, went COOL! Great price for a really cool gift that will get them away from the video games. Bonus if dad/grandpa helps them build it. I love that it takes a classic activity and gives it a modern twist.

Our seven year old put this together with his father and they loved it. Makes me happy to see them working together to build stuff. It doesn't go very fast, but other than that it is worth the money.

Great Cub Scout project
I have 5 boys in my Cub Scout den (age 9). As part of their robotics elective I asked them to put it together. It went together in about half an hour with NO broken parts. I thought this was so much better than the recommended adventure because it emphasized teamwork & was much bigger and easier to handle for the young people.
