Hi, what are the dimensions of each individual dice “slot”/space?

I'm not sure of the exact dimensions but each individual slot holds a set of d&d (7) dice. Most of our sets are the chessix brand. Hope this helps.

How many sets of dice can it hold?

Depends on how big your dice are, but you could fit 15 sets of "standard" sized dice in each of the slots. Then if you wanted to stuff more in the top pocket you could get more in. But if you have "over-sized" dice, each die will take up a spot, with the D4 and D10 (or D%) sharing a spot. So the set of "over-sized" will take up 6 spaces on their own. The slots are big enough to fit a character mini in as well if you feel so inclined.

are the inserts cheap flimsy plastic? like will they crack easily with use?

The trays might be cheaper plastic on the inside but they are coated with a nice, soft lining that feels like it will last. I love my case! So much room for dice, cards and more!
