Swanson 100% Natural Organic Chicken Stock, 32 oz Carton (12 Pack)

I don’t care about how this was made., . I care about how it reduces and sauces and Simmers, soup, sauce to the perfect consistency and that’s what it does.What most people don’t know the real chicken stock stinks like hell on waters because bones from chicken or turkey really stink so I don’t do it and I buy chicken stock and this is my chicken stock that I keep in my pantry. Real chicken with bone stock takes hours to make, need to scoop off the skim and I don’t think anybody’s doing that.my Stocks take weeks to make I don’t have that time anymore sometimes some of my stocks take a year to make.

I like the product because it doesn't contain all the additives of regular chicken stock, (I was particularly looking for a stock without MSG.) It is certified organic. I use chicken stock in many of my recipes, including as a base for nice winter soups.

i was going.to use it to make broth but some chunks of white pieces of unknown origin come out & i was disgusted and so i discarded every thing.

Use this broth a lot. Excellent product with some real flavor.

This is very tasty chicken stock. Aside from adding it to a host of recipes calling for liquid, I make all my soups with it instead of using water. I make a wonderful and very popular Cream Of Carrot Soup using this. All our widowed senior neighbors I share soup with love it and so does my husband. Every summer I shred zucchini from our garden and freeze in Zip Lock Freezer Bags...2 lg shredded zukes each bag. To make my soup I put two 32 oz containers of stock into a soup pot along with a bag of frozen shredded zucchini and bring to a boil. While the zucchini is thawing in the stock, I chop up 1/2 a large sweet onion and wash 2 lbs of fresh baby carrots. I add 1 heaping Tsp of Better Than Boullion Chicken Stock Base to the carrots and stock along with the prepped veggies.. I simmer this until the carrots are fork tender. I mash the carrots with a potato masher and then run my hand held emmustion blender through it until the carrots are pulverized with the rest of the veggies. Next I add about 2 cups of left over mashed potatoes and combine throughly. Lastly I add some freshly cracked black pepper, about 1 Tsp of dried Thyme, and about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of Half and Half. Don't add any salt because there's enough salt already in the stock and soup base. I try to buy the low sodium variety of this chicken stock which makes a great soup but it's not always available. Stir everything together and bring to a simmer. Turn the heat off and let it sit for 1/2 an hour for the flavors to meld. It's SOOO good, nutritious and full of fiber. Recipes you find in cookbooks call for heavy cream but I find the Half and Half works out very well. We old folks need to stick together and help each other. Making soup and sharing with elders who don't or can't cook is a great way to improve the quality of their lives.

I use a lot of this product. But I received a case the end of September, 2021, and the expiration date was December 17, 2021. Seems like a short window. Very disappointed.
