Twinlab super enzyme caps | 200 Capsules | Maximum Strength Dietary Supplement for Ddigestion & Energy Production

As you can see from the other reviews, this product helps issues like IBS and GERD. I actually got to a point where I was taking 2 x 30mg of Lansoprasole (I also tried all the others) and STILL I was having life destroying reflux. I won't go into the horrible specifics and all the dietary changes I made, because if you haven't tried this product yet, today is a positive day for you, and I don't want to spoil it. You have a chance. But which brand should you try? I'm here to help you with that decision. I originally started out taking 'Now Foods Betaine HCl, 648 mg , 120 Capsules'. I have a dramatic review for that product about how it essentially turned my life around that was posted months ago. However, one thing I noticed along the way was that it didn't always work very consistently. I'd buy 3-5 at a time, and I noticed sometimes that when I started a 'different batch', I would be having problems again. A separate review for that product mentioned that he/she tried to put on in a glass of water and noticed that it wasn't dissolving like it should. And to be clear, it should dissolve fairly quickly, the capsule is just there because otherwise it would burn your throat. It should release shortly after entering the stomach. I ran a test comparing: A) Now Foods Betaine HCl, 648 mg , 120 Capsules B) Doctor's Best Betaine HCI Pepsin and Gentian Bitters, Capsules, 120-Count C) Twinlab Super Enzyme Caps, Maximum Strength, 200 Capsules First, I heated the water to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (close to body temperature) and then dropped in two pill from each of these three products to see what happened (a total of 6 pills). Generally, the results were similar between replicates. Pills from B) and C) started dissolving around the same time, within 2-3 minutes. After 6 minutes, the pills from C) generally broke open and were released into the water completely. The pills from B) broke open around this time too, but not completely. In both instances, one side of the capsule broke open and the other did not. It took another 7-8 minutes for the rest of the capsule to dissolve (13-14 minutes total). At this time, A) showed little signs of breaking open. Even when started poking it with a spoon, only a tiny amount came out of the capsule and went into the water. I want to say that ~25-30 minutes needed to pass before both were completely dissolved. So a quick summary - Time to pill dissolving completely: A) Now Foods Betaine HCl, 648 mg , 120 Capsules -- 25-30 minutes B) Doctor's Best Betaine HCI Pepsin and Gentian Bitters, Capsules, 120-Count -- 13-14 minutes C) Twinlab Super Enzyme Caps, Maximum Strength, 200 Capsules -- 6 minutes I'm not sure how much differently this process occurs in the stomach, which is more acidic but the pill is making less contact with water, but that is what I found. Based on this experiment, the fact that the product seems to work very well, and prior experience with the inconsistency of A), I will be choosing this product for the time being. Apparently, gastric emptying (emptying of stomach to the small intestine) begins just minutes after eating and can last for a couple of hours. If it takes 25-30 minutes for the product to start working, its not helping for the food that gets dumped into your intestines before that occurs. This is a problem. What if the capsule itself gets emptied during that time before ever even breaking open? That's an even bigger problem. If anything changes in the future, I will update this review.

I have been using digestive enzymes for years but these far exceed any of the others. Just two medium sized caps help break down stubborn heavy food and ease digestion. I am prone to having a nervous stomach and have had to use pepsin in the past. This clears up all my stomach issues, including cutting down gas tremendously. I lost close to 90 lbs by drinking water and exercise, and I think these things definitely helped. Gone are the days of discomfort due to indigestion. I also take vitamin packs and these help break them down without the bloat. I buy these like I buy deodorant, I never leave home without them. Really great product, and the glass apothecary jar keeps light from degrading the active ingredients. It is suggested that everyone should take digestive enzymes- I definitely think these help me.

the only other enzymes besides these that work for me are digest gold, which I have been taking too long and im not sure if there loosing their effectiveness or not so I decided to switch back to these, Also I read another review that says they help with scar tissue which is a definite interest to me right now. I can only speak to how they help me with digestion right now and I will update this review in regards to the scar tissue in a few months. As far as my digestive system, I havent always eaten as well as I should have nor have I eaten in the best portion sizes either. These enzymes DEFINITELY settle my stomach and help me to absorb the nutrients from my meals ( when I eat meals with nutrients LOL) aswell as the nutrients from my vitamins. These help keep my stomach settled and keep these moving nicely so if your having digestive issues and youve tried many enzymes that seem to be doing nothing I would highly recommend taking these!

Works very well for me. Taking one of these with each meal decreased by 95% the heartburn and GERD symptoms that I had been experiencing. I haven't taken any Prilosec, Tagamet, or any other acid blockers since starting to take these capsules. Getting away from the acid blockers seems to be a good thing as they were causing other problems. I still chew an occasional Tums or Gasviscon tablet, but it is more out of fear that I might get heartburn than anything else. Previously, I'd have had to eat the entire bottle just to get minimal relief. The capsules do have a rather strong odor when you open the bottle and smell the contents, but that is entirely due to the natural enzymes that are in the capsules. You do NOT burp up any odors. None. Bottom line, these work very well for me and they may also work well for you. I have no affiliation with this product other than I am a satisfied user.

This is really the best enzyme formula I have ever taken! It works! The price is awesome. I used to pay almost 50.00 for this enzyme for 200 caps at the health store but now found on line and pay way less....i would like to see shipping for free no matter what the purchase is.. There are other places that do have free shipping regardless of what or how much you order. I love amazon it's a great place to shop.... my items arrive on time and sometimes a day or so early i love that:) If you have digestion issues or bloating, even heartburn i do recommend taking this item to see how it works with your system. I take about 3 at a time if i have eaten something that is heavy especially startchy foods otherwise i take one sometimes two it just depends on what my body is telling me..

I used to buy these at Sprouts for many years. I loved them. Then the guy at sprouts said TwinLab was bought by another company and they doubled the price, so Sprouts stopped selling them. I ordered these online and the horrific smell was unbearable. Gag-worthy!
