Secrets of Professional Tournament Poker: The Essential Guide

The book covered many aspects of professional poker life that many do not think about or talk about. Little is truly in a league of his own when writing about the aspects of poker.

I've been reading and studying to transition my game from the TAG style I was raised on to a GTO based LAG style for a little bit now. So far, the materials that I've read tend to bog WAY down in the math and theory of GTO, important information that I'm glad to have, but not many directly implementable take-aways. This is the first book I've come across that does a really good job of explaining the fundamentals of GTO as well as clearly explaining in simple terms how to actually USE them. Playing against my ingrained TAG tendencies does not come naturally to me and this book is the first to make me feel like, "oh, yeah, I CAN do this" with confidence.

Really great information. Read it twice.

a very well laid out book that is approachable for the amateur. it's not meant for the complete novice, but he does well to explain many common terms and concepts.

Poker, played well is fun, but it is not easy. Jonathan Little is on the front line and lives his life for his family, that includes his readers and followers. I am proud to be a member of his Poker Coaching students. He not only offers books and many poker tools but also has a slew of free to view videos, I watch mainly the You Tube but I believe there are others as well. He is a good teacher and hires several good teachers for his Poker Coaching. Good book amoung his other helpful books. If you are, or would like to be, serious about tournament poker you will benefit from this book.

I recommend it

This books is a very recent chat about tournament poker, whereas many of the older books are now massively out of date. Jonathan Little is very knowledgable and runs a successful poker coaching website and community. I read another review which said this book is the current bible of tournament poker. For as long as it stays relevant, surely for a few years to come, I agree. If you learn all the material in the book, you'll be in very good shape, but there's a lot to get through! Highly detailed and useful to everyone I think. For intermediate players and upwards I'd suggest.

Desmitifica las estrategias clásicas de libros de décadas pasadas, que raramente funcionan en el poker actual, mucho más agresivo. Analiza en profundidad cada fase del torneo y explica las mejores estrategias y, sobre todo, por qué son óptimas. No es barato, pero vale la pena. No es un libro para novatos, aunque tampoco es necesario ser avanzado ni jugar en límites altos. Tampoco es un libro para leer una vez, sino para estudiarlo y exprimirlo. La edición física es de gran calidad, tanto la impresión, como las tapas y el grosor del papel. Muy recomendable.
