Review: Great book - Very easy read. Well written and packed full of useful information. I couldn’t put it down Review: A great 3rd edition update to an already superior book! - Bruce Tremper has done it again with a tremendous and significant addition to the library of every serious avalanche enthusiast. As a mountain guide and avalanche professional I only wish this book had been available as a reference for my foundational years. This is an amazing summation of the state of the art from the recreational users perspective and even a good read for active practitioners. My only negative comment is that the Kindle edition occasionally has some odd formatting when it comes to photos and captions and how they lay out in relation to the text. Having said that, you really need to own this book if you travel in snow covered mountains in the winter.
