I just use them as they are coz they're dry pads. I think you'll take away their power if they get wet! Maybe spray then wait a while until it drys a bit, then use them Personally I just use as they are

I would suggest you try it and see what happens - something similar is my kitchen floor is has dips and ridges so I use bleach on it to make sure it looks very clean as the dirt is lifted.
