Follain Irish Jam - Black Currant (13 ounce)

USA currant farming was federally banned in the early 1900s, when blackcurrants, as a vector of white pine blister rust, were considered a threat to the U.S. logging industry. Most were eradicated. A century late,r they are not well known in the United States. Very healthy, I hope they become the next, "Big Thing" for Healthy Food Marketers. They prevented scurvy by providing Vitamin C to the population of parts of Great Brittan during WWII, when tropical fruit was hard to obtain. Best part is they taste great, and so does this Irish version of the Jam, which is as simple as a recipe can be. A little pricey to buy here, presumably because of shipping costs.

We bought the black current jam as a gift for a friend who is Irish. We selected this brand because of the great reviews and it's from Ireland. This jam lived up to its reviews. Our friend said it's the best black current jam he's ever had!As an extra plus, it arrived very quickly, within 10 days. We would definitely order it again.

These are so good it seems a shame to use them in sauces. I got a second jar to use on toast. Delicious and full of fruit.

Its not so easy to find Black Current Jam, which my mother made after my brother and I picked them wild as young children. This is so nostalgic for me, and a real treasure.

As a connoisseur of preserves, I fully appreciated the flavor and other characteristics of Follain Black Currant Jam! Mighty tasty!

This is the best jam ever especially if you like blackcurrants cuz there's a lot of black kinds in there it is five stars to me
