Knox Gear Professional Studio Boom Arm Microphone Stand

For $50 you really can't go wrong with this mic arm. While it's not the most premium feeling/looking, it's exactly the upgrade I needed coming from your typical $15-25 arm that bends and breaks after 6-12 months of use.It seems this model goes under a few different names:  IXTECH , ArmThronmax Zoom , and  MOUNT-IT! . All three with more reviews/purchases and higher in price. So this Knox Gear variant seems like a no-brainer for the slight savings you get.

This boom works fairly well. Unfortunately, it’s load capacity is way too small and my microphone challenges it each time I use it. I’ve cranked down on it to the point where I thought it would break if you want to let this hold my mic up in place. But for half the price of the gator works products I think it’s worth the compromise

Works great, and cost me half the price of a rode or blue yeti mic stand.

What would have been a slam-dunk 5 stars is compromised by all 6 cable clips failing to stay closed and being worthless. Not enough of an issue for me to return the unit, but a disappointing "little thing" that unnecessarily takes away from how great this stand is.

Wow! I am seriously impressed at this mic arm for the price. I was about to buy the Blue Compass for twice the price when I noticed the similarities. While I haven’t used the Compass first-hand, for the market these are aimed at, I can’t imagine it has a lot more to offer.Observations:- supports clamp or through-hole mounting. The swivel mount uses a hole straight through to hold the clamp or for through-hole mounting so it can easily be mounted to just about anything using a screw or bolt.- Tension can be adjusted for the arm, at the swivel mount end. So it holds heavy mics. I have a Yeti on it with factory-set tension.- each joint can be locked but with proper tension, this is not necessary in most cases.- will accommodate up to 3.7” with the clamp- the cable management is great. Easy to get the cable in and out but stays secure. Love this feature.I’m sure that over time I’ll find something to quibble about, but this has far exceeded my expectations so far.

I custom attached this to my desk and it has held up great. I wanted something that wasn’t a mic attached to headphones and this made that possible. I use this everyday. I highly recommend!!
