Not as Bad As I thought
I didn't read the reviews for this book until after I had already purchased it...but now that I've read it, I don't think it's as bad as people are making it out. Not a glowing sequel to the fabulous Funnybunny original but not horrific like some of the reviews lead you to believe. I don't think the author intended the brother bunny to act out of malice...I think the author intended for him to be seen as more of a prankster. It's a children's book so I don't think we as adults need to delve into more dark meanings than just that. That being said, if you are sensitive, I would skip this one. Not a good enough book to bother with.

Really Troubling Moral
This book is cute on the surface; it shows a brother and sister with sibling rivalry. PJ (who you might know from It's Not Easy Being a Bunny--a genuinely cute book!!) likes to hide his little sister's toys, put blue paint in her yellow paint, put her blankets in the freezer, etc. He gets in trouble one morning after he painted Honey Bunny's face while she was asleep, and then he stops picking on her. The message Honey Bunny gets from this is that PJ doesn't love her anymore, until she sees that he has painted her face overnight again. The book fully supports the message that PJ doesn't really need to change his behavior. Now, I get that these are KIDS (well, bunnies), and they don't always functionally express their emotions. And there is some wisdom to understanding that other kids (or people) might not always know how to express their feelings. My problem is that books should teach them something they don't already know about how to express emotions in a healthy way. Both of my kids read this book with me several times (it's their current favorite), and ever since we read it, my son has been hiding my daughter's toys. She doesn't like it, but she's learning to accept that as a form of affection, because this book told her that's how love should look. What *I* say seems to matter much less than what their favorite characters say.I rue the day I ever bought this book.

Very cute story and illustrations
Bought this for my younger granddaughter that loves "It's Not Easy Being a Bunny". Found the storyline a bit too mature than the first one. Will put it away and bring it back out in a year or so.
