feather weight
Not easy to control in straight line, but that is how spiral saws work. Other than that, fabulous product, seriously light weight

works as advertised
I don't do a lot of drywalling, but enough to have used this tool several times. Very handy, easy to use. Solid without being unnecessarily heavy. I got some decent quality bits for cutting wood and other materials; no problems at all. I would definitely recommend the tool.

Makita Drywall Rotary Tool
I love this thing. I use the 1/4" shaft burrs and sanding drums to very rapidly carve out stumps into my artwork after using an electric chain saw for the course work. One thing to watch for is if the bit is a bit unbalanced or bent it will throw the body of the tool into vibration and just make the tool difficult to handle. It's best to dispose of the bit and get another that is properly balanced/not bent. I also removed (one small screw will remove it) the guard because it is in the way for what I do. The tool has plenty of power to force burrs to cut. I am beating on this thing pretty hard and hopefully I will not destroy it. The tool also screams at 3200 rpm. I haven't tried the 1/8" bits but I assume they will be ok plus the size of the tool might be overkill on the small bits so I will probably use my old Dremel 4000 for them. Two 1/8" drywall cutting bits are included. JJK

Used for porting an intake manifold
I used it with carbide bits to port an intake manifold. The guard vibrated loose, and the ROUND bit slipped, but it worked. If using for a similar purpose, get a squared off bit if possible, remove the guard, and use a lot of lubrication for your bit to keep it cool.
