Does everything I need.
These are great, just bought 4 more. Of course I don't expect AA batteries to have same energy as D, and so I don't use them in high-drain products that run a lot. Even if I did, they are easy to unscrew and switch in fresh charged batteries, which I always keep on hand. All my Eneloop, Amazon Brand and Ikea Ladda batteries fit in these, and the adapter fits in all the devices I tried to use them in. One of the key benefits aside from the cost savings is that rechargeable NiMh don't tend to leek in devices like Alkaline batteries do when they sit around too long, and it you did use alkalines in the adapter and they leak, I expect it would not damage the device you are powering, perhaps only the adapter.

Perfect compliment to the Eneloop AA battery family.
I bought these D Size Battery Spacers for use with my Eneloop AA batteries and these work great. I had previously bought a couple of lanterns and the one takes D batteries. I didn't mind that it took D batteries but the weight of 3 D batteries is more than 3 AA batteries and adds weight to an item that if you use it for camping you want to reduce the weight because you are carrying that item. Plus the D batteries I had originally installed were just throw away alkaline batteries. I always want to reduce waste so since I already had some AA Eneloop batteries, that I like a lot, I wanted to use them in my lantern and these spacers helped me do that. The lantern worked great with these batteries with no difference in function. They are so simple it amazes me that I had not used these before. The bottom unscrews and pops off and you just insert the AA Eneloop battery into the spacer correctly and seal it back up. They are now D cell sized but not D cell heavy plus when they run down I just have to recharge them. Now you can not recharge them within the D Cell spacers but they just unscrew and you take the AA battery out. I have not come across anything yet that will not run on the Eneloop AA battery inside or outside the D cell spacer but I rarely come across anything that uses D sized batteries. My Eneloop batteries are the Panasonic branded versions not the Sanyo so I can not comment on previous versions of Eneloop and the D sized spacers. So I would recommend these spacers for anyone who wants to reduce the weight of D cell battery operated devices as well as one who wants to reduce waste/cost of D cell batteries for those devices and also one who wants a rechargeable option that will last for years.

WORK PERFECTLY!
I have a large number of Eneloop Pro AA and AAA batteries, but received a lighted decoration at Christmas as a gift that required D batteries. Rather than buying disposable batteries, I got these adapters and they worked to perfection!

Save money with these D battery adapters for your rechargeable AA
I love these adapters. I'm sold on my Eneloop AA and AAA batteries but from time to time I need a bigger sized and this fills that gap perfectly. Drop in a AA, power up your device. It works exactly as expected. I've used a previous set of these for years and it was time to add some more to the mix and I'm glad I did.

Work fine in my LED flashlight
Oh I read lots of review that complained these were too big or not shaped right, or not the right voltage or any number of wrong statements ... at least for my purposes. I did not want to buy big D-cell batteries and then have to throw them away adding to the world's garbage and toxic chemical problems any more than I have to. So I got these, and you just unscrew the bottom and pop a rechargeable AA inside and screw it back together. I put it in my LED flashlight and i cannot see any difference at all in the brightness of the light. Perhaps the batteries may lose their charge faster than non-rechargeable batteries, but that is why I have lots of rechargeables always ready to go. These are great. If I run into any problems with anything else I will be sure to come back and amend my review.

a way to use the 1.2v rechargeables you almost threw away <g>
So many of the smaller battery powered devices I have seem to not be 'designed' to support the 1.2v level batteries anymore, but insist on something closer to 1.5v or they throw a low battery warning very soon after a battery swap. As a result, I had quit using my AA rechargeable NiMH batteries and was switching to the Lithium rechargeables with 1.5v output as I could afford them. But I saw these adapters and they looked like they had high enough quality they would last for a while. So decided to use these with all my 1.2v AA rechargeables as most of MY use of D cells was flashlights and they don't generally nag at you about battery level as the bulb not illuminating well is the universal sign it is time to swap out the D cells. I always put off buying any D Cells (alkaline) as I use them so infrequently and they cost so much per battery. And I didn't want to buy a desktop charger for D cells as I would hardly ever use it. When I saw the (looks like) higher quality AA to D adapters I decided it was a way to 'recycle' my old tech 1.2v AA rechargeables I had been thinking of throwing out. Yes, they won't last as LONG as D Cells (Alkaline or NiXX) - but if you are like me, you leave the flashlight switched on way too often and run the cells down before the next use anyway. So not an optimal solution to spend too much money on 'creating' - but if you have a medium to large size pile of older rechargeable AA batteries this may be a low cost way to put them back into the 'things I actually like to use group' of stuff you own. A way to 'recycle' the old 1.2v tech to get a few more years out of it. I had 32 of the old NiMH AA's and with the 8 pack of D Cell adapters I have 'plenty' of (wimpy but usable) D cells ready to go (for a day of use maybe) whenever I need them.

Best of the lot
I've got an old Maglite flashlight that I've owned since the 1970's. It uses 4 alkaline D cells. Over the years I've had to clean it out numerous times due to the batteries leaking. I was even debating just throwing it away. I looked at quite a few adapters, but most seemed to be really cheaply made. Enter the Eneloop Panasonic AA-D adapter. I replaced the incandescent bulb with an led and the alkaline batteries with the adapter and 4 lithium AA's. WOW, what a difference. First, this battery adapter is much better made than the competition. Second, the flashlight's a lot lighter. Third, there's no worrying about battery leakage. And finally with the led bulb, it's super bright. New life for an old flashlight.

Eneloop Panasonic D Size Battery Adapters Are SOLIDLY Built and Work Great
Although there are cheaper brands of D-cell adapters, I opted to go with the more expensive Eneloop Pansonic adapters in order to ensure a higher quality item. I'm glad I spent the extra money. The Eneloop Panasonic adapters are really well made. If you need to change your rechargeable batteries often, these D-cell adapters will be able to withstand this use and abuse.

Preis/Leistung stimmt
