In late 2015, I placed two separate orders for a Lorell LLR68925 Letter/Legal Plastic File Box. I liked these file boxes, so I recently used "buy again" to order two more. The boxes I received last year were as pictured in the item listing. The ones I received recently were not. More about this later.The boxes I received recently, sold and shipped by Amazon, were sent wrapped in thin plastic that was worn away in various places. Each file box had a number of black scuffs that cannot be cleaned off because they are abraded into the plastic. Each file box had three Amazon labels stuck directly onto the plastic with an adhesive that made them difficult to remove. Since the file boxes are not actually broken and can be used for something, I am not sending them back. If I did want to send them back, I'm not sure how I'd do that. Should I wrap them back up in the flimsy torn plastic? When I ordered these same items last year, each was shipped inside a cardboard box that provided good protection, and the file boxes did not have Amazon labels stuck to them. Evidently, Amazon's shipping practices for the same product may vary.In addition, it seems the product itself may vary. The file boxes I received last year were as pictured in the listing. Those I received recently were not. Both designs are sturdy, but I like the older design better. The older design has two grooves on top of the lid, while the newer design has a groove going all the way around. Both designs hold the boxes in place when they are stacked, but the newer design allows more slipping. The newer design makes it more difficult for me to see the contents of the box through the lid, though that's due to the way I place my labels and probably would not be of importance for most. The older design provides good finger grips for lifting all along both the short or the long sides, while the newer design provides good finger grips only near the middle of the short sides.The biggest downside to the design change, for me, is that the lids from the boxes I ordered last year do not fit the boxes I ordered recently, and vice versa. If I'd seen an accurate picture of the new design, I would not have ordered this item. Also, if I'd known that this item would be shipped wrapped only in a bit of plastic, I would not have ordered it.

I purchased two of these to start using as memory file boxes for my three-year-old daughter! They are the perfect size and I love the fact that you can either convert them as letter or legal size hanging folders! I used one for her art projects and the other one is for her school & other memories! Added her name in vinyl on the boxes! I will be filling them with fun memories and give them to her as a gift when she is all grown up! I will definitely be buying more of these as I will be gifting them to new mothers to keep track of their kids projects!!
