I ordered the Licorice.com Licorice Gift Box as a treat and it exceeded expectations. If you’re a true licorice fan (black or red), this is the box worth getting. Perfect for sharing or sampling. Real taste: The licorice flavor is authentic, not overly sweet or artificial. It hits that balance between sweet and rich without being cloying. Quality packaging: Everything arrives tidy and intact — no crushed pieces or messy bags. A couple notes: If you’re not already into licorice, this box might be an acquired taste — it’s genuine, not super candy-shop sweet. Quantity is good for the price, though heavy licorice fans might go through it quicker than expected. Bottom line: Top-tier licorice assortment with quality flavor and a nice variety. The licorice was very flavorful! Definitely would buy again. The only thing I would do different is take it out of the cardboard tubes and put it in plastic bags to keep it soft.

You get to try 3 different types of licorice. I like them all. You get one type per container. My favorite are the wheels that you can unwind and eat in a thin strips. These are harder, the chewiest, and neither sweet nor salty. The rectangles are the softest. I can’t describe these as either sweet or salty…middle of the road? The tubes have medium chew, harder than the rectangles and softer than the wheels. Those have the strongest pure licorice taste, to me. These are really of a very high quality. I definitely recommend them.

Australian Black = a bit on the sticky side, with mild but decent flavor Black Spirali = this is black licorice wheels, not string. It can be pulled apart, but wheels are a bit harder and thinner than the softer string shown in the photo. The flavor is very mild, more so than even the Australian Black, but good. Licorice Root Pillows = These are the GOAT of the package. Most of the pillows have 3 flat, ripply, flavorful, soft, licorice squares that I like to pull apart and savor. While they don't actually melt in my mouth, they have a melt in the mouth, rich, but not potent, flavor. I wish Amazon offered this type by itself or a 3 pack of just this.

I've never been so disappointed in both flavors and consistency. I don't know how this made Oprah's list. I ordered the strawberry. It taste slightly sweet but not like strawberry. Not an unpleasant taste but not what was expected. The pictures showed what expected to be soft Australian twist and soft ropes. Instead they were hard, very hard. The ropes are wound tight not loose shoe strings. They are only stored in the cardboard cylinders, not in bags in the cylinders. I don't know if the hardness it by design or due to exposure to air. I can get softer better tasting licorice from local candy store and quite frankly the hardware store for a lot less money. At first I thought it was because the package sat in cold until I got home, but after bring inside fir almost 2 days, very little improvement.

It was good. It wasn't as soft as I expected it to be. Maybe because there was no freshness seal. I opened the beautiful box to find three very fancy tubes. The presentation was impressive. Then I lifted the cap off the tube without breaking any type of seal or any type of beerier preventing air from entering the tube. Or even tape holding it in place. And after lifting the lid off very easily it was opened directly to the licorice. I would of like to of seen a plastic seal or something to prevent the outside air from the factory to my mouth from getting at the inside of the tube. The tube lid is not an airtight fit. Just something to consider.

the textures are really soft and chewy and easy on the jaw. I am not a fan of filled anything. It kind of just ruins the taste. Similarly to a Boston Cream donut. For me, it's too much sugar and simply ruins the whole treat.

It's good licorice, but not ground breaking. The fruit flavors are great, but the black licorice, is just not strong enough, and just comes off like molasses. If you like fruit flavored licorice, you'll like this, but if you like black licorice, just go with the king: Scottie dogs. I figured a licorice prioritizing brand would have the highest quality black licorice and gave it a shot, but it tastes like the stuff I can buy at dollar general. Won't buy again, but will share with family.
