This is a high quality foot valve and a good value. It's been used on a pump that draws from a muddy water source. It never failed, despite being neglected and abused.

I used this to clean out my well. It is great and did a very fine job.

Works good and solid

I bought a Harbor Freight two inch semi-trash pump to drain excess water out of my 21 foot deep cistern. The intake hose had a standard open strainer on the end. The first time I used it, it took almost an hour to prime that pump, trying to fill that two inch hose and lifting the water 16 feet vertically. Because I had to repeat that about every month, I dreaded doing that again. So, I got the idea of putting a two inch foot valve on the suction end of the intake hose instead of the standard strainer. I put the hose in the well and positioned the HF pump. I used a garden hose to fill the 20 foot intake hose, attached it to the pump, filled the pump housing with water, screwed the filled cap in and started the motor. Hallelujah!!! Water started flowing immediately at full force! And it kept its prime when I stopped the pump and restarted it later! Great product! Saved a LOT of time!

Easy to install. Tough as heck, should last a long time, doesn't leak and holds the water above the foot, works perfectly and doesn't make a sound 3 foot under the surface of the river...

Exactly what I needed

Works well and is very sturdy. Didn't seem to reduce flow rate at all.
