This is delicious, and it really does taste like frozen hot chocolate. I top it with vegan whipped cream. That cuts the bitterness of the cocoa, which isn't too bitter to begin with, and adds a little sweetness. It's not something I'd want to drink every day, but once a week it's great to relax and enjoy a glass of it. Honestly, you can't tell it's vegan at all. It's just delicious. I plan on trying some of the other flavors because so far, the only flavor I've tried is the Frozen Hot Chocolate. I wouldn't say it's refreshing on a hot day. It's too sweet and thick for that, but it's a very enjoyable drink, something to enjoy now and then while relaxing and watching a movie, reading a book, etc. Highly recommended for those looking for vegan drinks.I feel bad because so many of the flavors have coffee in them. I like the taste of coffee, but I can't tolerate any caffeine at all. Even decaf, which still has some caffeine, affects me. I have to go caffeine free. I wish the caramel, my favorite flavor, did not have coffee in it. I'd be buying it every month! But, as it is, I can't have that flavor. I will continue to enjoy the iced hot chocolate now and then and love it. Whether you want sweetness or not, I think the addition of whipped cream makes the drink much better.

To start I was thrilled there is actually a dairy free cocoa alternative, and while I liked it, it's not what I was expecting. To me the word "instant cocoa" conjures memories of gathering around the kitchen table with my sisters and friends, scooping heaping spoonfulls of Swiss Miss instant cocoa in to cups of hot water. And on those cold texas day sipping the rich almost creamy concoction while we watched movies. That's what I was expecting, this, was not that.What I got was a much more "adult" flavor. More like a dark chocolate, and unfortunately I didn't pick up on the caramel much either. It also lacked the rich creamy texture I was familiar with. I did come around to it quickly though. It is good its just not what I was expecting. It reminded me more of a "drinking chocolate" than a rich creamy cocoa.However, in it's defense I used water not alternative milk. I bet it would be incredible with a creamy cashew milk or better yet, walnut milk! Which unfortunately I don't have on hand. Which is why I only took off one star. That and it's a little pricey for what you get. But I wouldn't expect a dairy free instant cocoa to be cheap.

Delicious and happy to not have dairy or soy in it, happy to have a hot chocolate option we can enjoy.

Variety purchased: salted caramel.Well, what can I say. Not what I was expecting at all. I was expecting a creamy, sweet, salted caramel flavored hot cocoa mix. What I got was a barely sweet, watery, chocolately-ish liquid. Runny texture. Cannot taste salted caramel. Maybe a hint. I should have read the list of ingredients. Usually when I see MCT oil on the label, it is a preview of what the flavor will be like. Weird. Not sure I would want to try any of the other flavors at this point. I am glad I didn't buy the three pack for fourty something dollars. Would have been a huge waste. I would rather buy the swiss miss dary free option if I had to get a "plant based" cocoa mix again. I feel so duped. I read some of the reviews, and they seemed so happy. I don't understand why people like this stuff. To add, I usually only add water to cocoa mix, and it is fine, but this one isn't. It is runny and unsatisfying. Not something I would look forward to drinking in the winter time to warm me up on the inside. Felt like throwing it in the trash after one small cup and not having any more. Not sure what to do with this bag. For the price, I don't feel like it was worth it.Salt caramel is one of my favorite flavors. But not this. My search for a vegan plant based cocoa mix continues. On a good note I found a cafe latte mix I like (different brand). So there is a silver lining.

I like the creaminess the powder creates. It tastes okay but doesn’t really have a caramel flavor as advertised. It’s like it needed flavor.

I bought this after seeing the mixed reviews. Some said it was terrible, some said it was fantastic. I tried it and gave some to my not yet vegan friends and it is very good. I don't think it tastes artifical and it was as good as that I could get at any franchise coffee shop. I would buy this regularly if it was available locally. It is at least one of the best hot chocolates I've had though I'm sure there is some gourmet variety that is knock-your-socks-off good, this is a very good product that will satisfy your desire for hot cocoa. It is however troublesome given the amount there is in the bag, you would have to order quite a lot to have enough stocked.
